Texas Senator John Cornyn says "Now do Plessy vs Ferguson/Brown vs Board of Education

If I could turn back time, if could find away?!!

Cornyn made the remark via Twitter in a share of former President Barack Obama's statement on the Roe reversal

On Saturday morning, Texas Senator John Cornyn tweeted a racist comment along with a share of former President Barack Obama's statement regarding Friday's Supreme Court ruling to reverse Roe v. Wade.

, making his statement on Twitter on Friday morning shortly after the ruling was handed down, said "Today, the Supreme Court not only reversed nearly 50 years of precedent, it relegated the most intensely personal decision someone can make to the whims of politicians and ideologues—attacking the essential freedoms of millions of Americans."

The following morning, Cornyn shared that statement from Obama to his own Twitter account adding "Now do Plessy vs Ferguson/Brown vs Board of Education."

Brown v. Board of Education, ruled on by the Supreme Court in 1954, did historical justice in wiping away the 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson ruling, making "separate but equal" rightfully unconstitutional.

Following Cornyn's initial tweet, which received tremendous heated backlash, he fired off another one saying "Thank goodness some SCOTUS precedents are overruled."

That's not a bit surprising. The Reichtards will also try to go after SSM and perhaps even interracial marriage. Goodbye, Miranda law. Who needs that? If you're detained by the police, obviously you are guilty, particularly if you are not a white person.

What's wrong this morning, Petunia? Did you mistake your closet for the bathroom again? :rofl2:

Such bullshit, Clarence Thomas is in an interracial marriage ffs.

Yes, he is. Meanwhile, millions of alt-RW Americans HATE SSM and interracial marriage and think that it is abomination. Now that they've gotten one desire out of the way, think they'll stop there?

No I think it's just fearmongering and has absolutely no chance on either score. Having said that I have never understood why so many want same sex marriage considering that very few of them are religious, never really understood that one what's the point?

Cornhole Cornyn, Cancun Raffy Cruz, and Ironside Abbott make the three stooges look like Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle.

Except there are people from all races who either don't think there should be interracial marriage or would not want their children to marry someone of another race. Just as there are people of all religions who wouldn't want their children marrying someone from a different religion. That's just reality.

And in regards to Loving it's just fear mongering. Think of the logistics. This isn't 1960 where America was mostly white and black and people wanted the races separated. Large Hispanic and Asian and Indian populations in this country now and people from all racial backgrounds date and marry. No going back on that.

It's the new and improved KKK now repackaged as "the Alt-Right".

Their right to choose, not their right to force others to live as they choose. Do you really not understand what you are advocating?

Getting married is a questionable enough choice on its own, but giving one's parents a say in the matter is totally insane.

Haha, I like your Al Bundy attitude towards marriage. I said nothing about giving one's parents a say in the matter, I'm simply speaking about the attitudes some hold.

No I think it's just fearmongering and has absolutely no chance on either score. Having said that I have never understood why so many want same sex marriage considering that very few of them are religious, never really understood that one what's the point?

It has nothing to do with religion. It has everything to do with allowing same-sex couples to enjoy the benefits of marriage that straights have. Hospital visitation and medical decisions, inheritance, social security old age benefits, medical and life insurance benefits, etc. Either a country that prides itself in equality grants the same benefits to all legally-married couples, or they deny them to some based on spurious reasons.

Yes, that's reality. Should these bigots be allowed then to dictate to everyone else whom they may or may not marry? Of course not. Should the homophobes be allowed to roll back SSM now?

I'll share an interesting story. One of my best friends is a Chilean Jew. He grew up in Berkeley in a progressive Jewish household but his folks were adamant not just that he eventually marry a Jew but that he marry a Chilean Jew (of which there are not many in the world). Therefore he never told his folks when he dated a girl and he was in his mid 20's when his Mom basically asked him if he was gay.

On the surface the story sounds harsh but knowing my friend and his family there's some humor to it. My buddy ultimately married a non Chilean Jewish girl and all is fine. His folks are very nice people, they are politically progressive etc. etc. but to them, their son marrying a Jew was very important.

I don't think same sex marriage will be rolled back but I was speaking about Loving. I don't even think its possible to enforce something like that today even if you wanted to. Multiple races are far too intertwined and mixed.
