Texas grid fails yet again

The right can not be trusted to run government assisted systems

They hate everything Government

So they treat it all with contempt

Republicans say government doesn’t work

Then prove that when they get elected

The electrical grid is not a government.

May is typically a very mild month in Texas so power companies go offline to do yearly preventative maintenance. That maintenance is scheduled far in advance. So the record breaking heat, at a time when maintenance is being preformed ,is putting an unusual load on the grid and we are asked to conserve as an abundance of caution. Electrical service has not been interrupted there have been no rolling blackouts like in California. California’s federally regulated grid is suffering rolling blackouts . They are generating like crazy out of Lake Mead and wonder why the lake is so low. go figure?

Electrical power problems in the SDTC stem from the dismantling of power plants. All they have is solar and wind power.

There is no known technology that comes anywhere close to being cost effective for storing energy on the scale it'd be necessary to do so for use with solar power generation. It would cost tens of trillions to even try that.
Its like the Democrats dream of securing the border with drone instead of a wall. We see how well that is working. Just Democrat talking points that would never work in the real world. Meanwhile California's energy demand is draining lake Mead like a bathtub.

Only in Texas. Our grid doesn't go down in peak periods. It only goes down when the wind blows too hard because Washington people haven't figured out how to bury cables yet.

Burying cables is not practical for most of any grid. Properly maintained, there is no reason for high tension lines to come down or be damaged by winds (short of a tornado or hurricane).

At least CA's Senators don't pack up and leave the state when times get tough like Cancun Ted.

The drought is a real problem my friend. I used to run several campgrounds nationally including CA. When you run lakeside campgrounds and people can't launch their boats, it hurts your occupancy.

I remember when TX had a drought. One of my managers drove in his jeep along to bottom of Lake Conroe - it was bizzare!
Yep I seen lake Lavon turn into a puddle when there was a drought for a few years and I have seen it over flow its spillway in a very wet year. Great crappie fishing though they love the grass that grows along the shore and then gets covered in water when the lake goes up.
I drove my car in the bottom of Lake Joe Pool (but then they filled it up)

Try 100 degrees. Go look at the weather forecast for Dallas, TX.

First of all, there was no report as to the reason for the shutdowns, and secondly if you need to service these facilities, as in the story you concocted, you would do it during a part of the year with lower electric demand, not May.
You blame CA for their electric issues, but when it comes to TX all you do is make up excuses. Your opinions, and lies, mean shit.

Well, would you please call Olympia and tell those guys to get their act together? I mean I'm ok with heating my coffee hotwater outside on a camp stove once in awhile - but guys - c'mon. It's the Northwest - the wind blows here - get it together!!!!
