There is certainly a lot to be learned from this horrible incident- Mostly from the perspective of how a police department is to address a School Shooting incident- and how public officials respond to incidents.
The problem is, The Governor tried to use the incident to Boast the efforts of his Border Patrol, and Boast the procedures his state currently has in place for School Shootings like having armed gunman on campus- THAT HE SIGNED INTO LAW!
BUT HE WAS CAUGHT UP IN A WEB OF LIES his henchmen set up to distract away from the reality that his procedures he signed into law failed, and that the current law of allowing 18 year olds to buy ASSAULT RIFLES and 30 round magazines for themselves, and a suit of body armor, was a bad idea that has obviously very deadly consequences.
Number one concern. A team of 4 local police officers entered the building following proper procedures to take the gunman out, with whatever weapons they had available to them. BUT, were soon overwhelmed by the return fire by the gunman and his choice of weapon, were wounded and retreated to a safe distance and ended up waiting a full hour for police re-enforcements with weapons and body armor that could match the gunman's weapons- which is not procedure BTW.
I might also add, the first responders encountered re-enforced doors and locks that prevented them from accessing the classroom- that were also part of the governors plan to prevent school shootings. Another failed process of the governors doing.
How many children and teachers were shot while that hour ticked away waiting for backups?
How many children lay there wounded and bled to death while that hour ticked away?
SO the truth didn't play into the Governors narratives, so him and his henchmen made up lies and lied to the public, to try and fill his selfish narratives for political gain, and distract away from the real facts in the case. This is corruption at the highest level of state government!
Corrupt and Irresponsible LIARS with the blood on their hands of 2 teachers, and 19 children 10 or under!
This is a disgrace before the entire nation that rests entirely on the failures by this Governor, and the police department's response to the incident- AND A CONGRESS THAT SHOULD HAVE ACTED ON THIS AFTER THE VERY FIRST KINDERGARTEN SHOOTING over 10 years ago!
