Texas bans Plato in universities

Because you hang out with libtards!
I seriously doubt you ever even heard of this Platonic dialogue until FOX or right-wing social media told you what to say about it.
Of all the great writings that Plato contributed this was not one of them!
FOX tell you to say that?

Oxford University press says the Symposium is a masterpiece:

"In his celebrated masterpiece, Symposium, Plato imagines a high-society dinner-party in Athens in 416 BC. The guests--including the comic poet Aristophanes and Plato's mentor Socrates--each deliver a short speech in praise of love."

It's so famous, even you have made references to it without even realizing it, like every time you use the tems platonic friendship or platonic love.

You just made my point. And no, I don't believe Fox News has given me any Plato talking points lately, lol. It's clear to me you haven't read shit. Actually, you probably have, that's even worse. You are obviously searching for the next thing to say. If you read Plato and Socrates why the link to a full blown libtard haven like Oxford? Why not tell me how I'm wrong all by yourself?

This highlights a major problem with higher education. Once respected Universities are turning out idiot like this. They have become indoctrination camps, nothing more. The problem I'm pointing at? When Cypiss throws up a link to some article by someone that 'teaches' at Oxford, it means nothing anymore. To drones it might, but normal sane people now realize exactly what these failing Universities are, worthless activist camps. That is unfortunate, but they brought it on themselves and don't seem to understand how serious the problem is.

Now, when I hear someone went to an Ivy league school, I think that person is useless in the real world unless he or she wants to be a professional agitator. If I was looking for an agitator, that where I'd go. If I was looking for a bright mind that can solve actual problems, I'm running from most college kids.

Tobytone clearly has never read any Plato.

Toby is simply useless to society.

He is firmly in the anti-intellectualism lane in American arts and sciences. A long streams of goofs and doofs.

Texas has become a disgrace to higher education.

We began with

🧱 The Three Thinkers in Order

  1. Socrates (469/470–399 BCE) — The foundational Athenian philosopher whose method of questioning shaped Western thought. He left no writings; we know him mainly through Plato.
  2. Plato (428/427–348/347 BCE) — Socrates’ student, founder of the Academy, and author of dialogues exploring ethics, politics, metaphysics, and knowledge.
  3. Aristotle (384–322 BCE) — Plato’s student, tutor to Alexander the Great, and systematizer of logic, biology, ethics, and political theory.

You already admitted that Never Truthful @Walt is lying, as always. Plato isn't being banned by anyone.

So why lie about Texas being a "disgrace?"

Wow Jakey, you're trying way too hard. Just be yourself. I know that must be depressing, but I promise, it's better if you just write what's on your simple mind. Pretending you have a clue isn't working.

You are pretending to be not anti-intellectual, and it shows, you goof doof.
Toby is educated, but like all JPP MAGAts time and fear are working against him so he starts acting "off".

AAUP–TAMU Chapter Condemns Administration's Decision to Censor the Teaching of Plato

The AAUP–Texas A&M-College Station Chapter condemns Texas A&M University’s reported decision to censor the teaching of Plato by restricting a professor from covering foundational philosophical texts within his expertise in an undergraduate core course because it addresses race and gender theories. At a public university, this action raises serious legal concerns, including viewpoint discrimination and violations of constitutionally protected academic freedom.

Beyond the legal implications, the moral stakes are profound. Silencing 2,500-year-old ideas from one of the world’s most influential thinkers betrays the mission of higher education and denies students the opportunity to engage critically with the foundations of Western thought. A research university that censors Plato abandons its obligation to truth, inquiry, and the public trust—and should not be regarded as a serious institution of higher learning. We are deeply saddened to witness the decline of one of Texas’s great universities.
