Terrorist Bill Ayers admits he wrote Barack Obama's book "Dreams From My Father"

It's that simple really. Libs can't be rational within those narrow parameters however, so they have to go back 25 years to GHW Bush.

I'm waiting to hear Warren Harding and the Tea Pot Dome scandal come up soon.

Apparently you are not a fan of history. You are flash in the pan who lives for the moment. You wear it well.

Having a ghostwriter for an "auto"biography is not a crime, let alone a "high crime or misdemeanor"...

Of course it isn't. In fact, plagiarism itself probably wouldn't qualify as a high crime or misdemeanor, even if it was involved here, which it isn't. Plagiarism isn't something you go to prison for it, it's something you are sued for in civil court.

Stop trying to speak reasonably with Kiki, it's never going to work.

The issue here is that Obama very likely lied again....

Obama said Ayers was "just a guy from the neighborhood."

According to what Ayers is now saying, that original statement was a lie. Ayers was much more... he was a business partner of Obama's in book production.

If Obama truly has no long-standing ties to Ayers, he should take Ayers to court and sue him for libel. Why wouldn't he? If Ayers is running around wrongfully taking credit for Obama's best-selling work?

Stop trying to bolster your inflated ego at the expense of others. You are an abysmally smug little man whose only recourse is 'he said/she said.'

Crass ignorance in full flower on this thread. All those who brag non-stop about their braininess are stone-cold stupid about the irony of Ayers' comment. If this was such a slam dunk, what was Cannon worried about?

"The Republicans have made a last-minute attempt to prevent Barack Obama’s ascent to the White House by trying to recruit an Oxford academic to “prove” that his autobiography was ghostwritten by a former terrorist.

With two days before the election, Obama is poised to become America’s first black president, according to polls showing he has an average six-point lead over John McCain, his Republican opponent.

Dr Peter Millican, a philosophy don at Hertford College, Oxford, has devised a computer software program that can detect when works are by the same author by comparing favourite words and phrases.

He was contacted last weekend and offered $10,000 (£6,200) to assess alleged similarities between Obama’s bestseller, Dreams from My Father, and Fugitive Days, a memoir by William Ayers.

The offer to Millican to prove that Ayers wrote Obama’s book was made by Robert Fox, a California businessman and brother-in-law of Chris Cannon, a Republican congressman from Utah. He hoped to corroborate a theory advanced by Jack Cashill, an American writer.

Millican took a preliminary look and found the charges “very implausible”. A deal was agreed for more detailed research but when Millican said the results had to be made public, even if no link to Ayers was proved, interest waned."

He was lying, then?

Is irony related to lying or is it just a linguistic trick?

"An ironic remark conveys a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning. So, in an ironic statement one thing is said, while another thing is meant. For example, if you were trying to be ironic on a stormy, dreary day, you might say: “What glorious weather!” Or if you were suffering from a bad cold, you might ironically say: “I feel like a million bucks.” These are both examples of verbal irony, the most common occurrence of the figure of speech."

Is it only your opinion that we have to accept about Ayers 'irony' or do you have something a little more substantial for us.....?

I;ve never seen his claim in any context....

If you think Ayers wrote the book it's up to you to prove it. I can't prove a negative. But it's telling that the repub congressman from Utah wouldn't let the results of an investigation be published unless they were in his favor.
