Pastor Rafael Cruz, father of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) told the audience at a conservative conference on Saturday that marriage equality is part of a government conspiracy, the Des Moines Register reported.


“Socialism requires that government becomes your God,” the elder Cruz said to the crowd at the Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa. “That’s why they have to destroy the concept of God. They have to destroy all loyalties except loyalty to government. That’s what’s behind homosexual marriage.”

He is free to say whatever he wants and to believe whatever he wants.

What I fight against is him putting his religious beliefs into our laws. But I will always fight for his right to speak and believe as he chooses.

That is the difference between me and many extremists. I don't want to control anyone else.

The perspective most uninformed Americans have is that we are somehow condoning gays to be gay if we end old laws. And as a Christian, you can not condone this. If you condone gay marriage, you are sinning.

The FACT is that the laws being changed aren't to condone, but to stop judgement. The current law judges gays and doesn't allow them to be equal. Imagine if there was a law in place that didn't allow women to speak in church.....

The law teaches freedom of religion. The Bible teaches freewill. The idiots left over, are exactly that.

Your childish semantic tricks and vulgar sophistry have failed. Invidious discrimination is the issue as you and everyone else knows. The government can not give benefits to one class while denying them to another without a rational basis. We can't deny Hispanics named Cruz the right to free speech or marriage even if they are part of a same sex couple.
