Disingenuous is pretending that there was a "great jumping of the ship" and that Ds became Rs and Rs became Ds in droves, cats became dogs, dogs became horses, donkeys became rabbits... which is what the man said.
It didn't happen. Nor do I believe that there was an "evolution", I think that it was simple pandering. Successful pandering, mind you, but pandering it was. There was no magical moment the racists left the Democrats, they are still there.

The reality is, the same racists that voted against the Civil Rights Act were still there, they did not magically change their beliefs either. Racism is still there. Even if you get all smug, it is still there.

Are you suggesting that the same people who were there during the 50's and 60's who were racist are the same people that are still in Democratic Party? If so, provide names.

the reality is the southern states moved to the Republican party and have voted Repub ever since. The electoral map had the south designated as blue until the Civil Rights Act . They are solidly red since.

They were called Dixiecrats and were voting Red in many cases already. However, the significance of leaving the Dems gave the Reds more power until things were sorted out. You are confusing individuals with the party. The Repub party got the power when they switched. They started working together.
