The same States Trump carried last November plus one or two more, keep in mind that personal character and honesty were never important to the right wing base, tell them what they want to hear and you got 'em

The composition of the court is adjusted by almost every time a judge is added. Adjusting the number of the judges to change the political direction is court packing. The number of justices has not changed since 1869. RBG and Justice Beyer both said the number should not change and so did Joe Biden.

Ummm....I doubt anyone except Trump's most ardent fans wants Trump to return. Cruz is even more hated. He might run, but he's done.

Besides, the Republicans have clearly hamstrung themselves. They might be able to eek out taking back the Senate in 2022, but it would be difficult for them to take the House. Unless Biden fucks up, Biden (or more likely Harris) will win in 2024.

If the Republicans can resolve their internal struggles and stabilize their party, their first best shot will be in the 2026 Midterms and then the WH in 2028.

A political party that engages in court packing will usually violate norms that govern how judges are appointed and how the process works.
That is exactly what Mcconnell did blatantly. The reds packed the court.

Regardless, using "whataboutism" to to justify doing worse isn't good. The fact remains, due to the high levels of increasing extremism, the Federal government has been showing cracks for almost 3 decades now. The Democrats are pushing hard to expand SCOTUS for the Democratic agenda, not to right any wrongs. Same for making DC a state; they don't give a fuck about the citizens. They just want two more Senators.

These actions do not engender trust in our government to act wisely. It proves leaders in our Federal government are only seeking to fuck over their opponents and impose their political ideology.
