Tearing asunder

this will happen in the dem house also. The long term career politicians will not allow their base of power to be weakened by the electorate of this country.

I don't think Obama or ANY Democrat can be a liar in the eye's of those few who STILL supports this administration..that is why they are called-Sheep

There are those stupid enough to still be looking for the hope and change ???

Sheep, LOL, call them what they are dumb asses, LOL

I think it's hilarious that the guy that accused Obama of socialist indoctrination of American schoolchildren by delivering a speech telling them to set goals and work hard isn't sufficiently wing-nutty for the Republican party.

Awesome.

"I cannot be a participant in the shredding and tearing in the fabric of the Republican Party," said Greer, blaming his conservative critics for their plan to stage a divisive fight over his post at a party meeting Saturday. His critics were willing to "burn the house down and try to destroy the Republican Party," Greer said.
This is unfortunately needed. Look one of the biggest problems in the last decade with the Republican Party is that it has more moderates in terms of voting record than the Dem party (though this shifted a little in the last election), and they are too weak to stand up to even stop spending increases let alone be strong enough to push for actual cuts to government. Then you get too many people who blame the ENTIRE Repub party for wanting too much spending and that just further feeds the growing biggest BS delusion of both parties being the same.
I'd rather have a moderate than a Liberal, but the difference of being reluctantly for spending increases as opposed to enthusiastically for them is not enough for most people to notice or make a difference.
Besides only a true party whore would just want to see people elected so long as they have a D or R next to their name, they have to stand for something.

Like most Americans I am crying out for a return to limited government, for going back down the route of at least attempting to start paying down debt. If they are not going to support that and they aren't and if there is a good chance a more Conservative Repub can be there who will, then is it worth it?

Finally it boils my blood to see moderates play both sides, which they usually end up doing. Take a guy like Schwartzeneggger who starts up a large after school social welfare program, increases spending everywhere, starts new expensive environmental initiatives, supports the bankrupting socialist agenda in healthcare and then have the gall to stand up and complain about tax increases and the deficit. I mean he is just as guilty as the Dems over there.

That's all well and good, but I don't see an damn thing that is moderate about this fellow. This isn't a purge of moderates by conservatives. It's a purge of conservatives by ultra-conservatives.

I don't really mind except some of the ultra-conservatives are certifiably insane (see Bachman, Michelle).

I'd have to see his record more to really judge him but he is close to Charlie Christ and he is certainly not a Conservative.
Also the way I read this story is that he resigned because he couldn't stomach seeing his party fight rather than because anyone purged him.

Oh but it is ok to watch all the Blue dog moderate Democrats be shoved out of the Democrat parties by the radical commies who have taken over the Democrat party..

you all see it happening and say NOTHING, yet you bitch about the Republican party...well you betcha we care..

I think its hilarious that a liberal wants us to accept his definition of conservatism. You must be certifiably insane to think that I would.

He sure didnt deliver on that promise here.

I wish he would but he didnt.

I think we will all know what is in the bill in the end.

Do remember we have a representative democracy.

We hire them to hash out the details, that is what they are doing.

And in the end: A law that everyone has to buy insurance. A fucking gift to the insurance industry. Change that blows.

The National Republican Congressional Committee, the key cog in helping to finance GOP campaigns, has banked less than a third as much money as its Democratic counterpart and is ending the year with barely enough money to fully finance a single House race ...The DCCC [Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee] outraised the NRCC this year by more than $18 million ...The NRCC has only $4.3 million left in its campaign account─with more than $2 million in debt─leaving it with just a pittance to fund the dozens of races it hopes to aggressively contest. The DCCC, meanwhile, is sitting on a $15.3 million nest egg.
