The medal really had hidden meaning.

Of course it was absurd to give a medal of freedom to Limbaugh.

What it really meant was one con man acknowledging another con man by handing him an award.

He couldn't really make the award for what it really meant.
 
I never understood the desire to eat monkey brains but it is considered a delicacy in southern Asian countries, and the desire for it is unbelievably in very huge demand. The idea is to strap a poor little young defenseless monkey down in a metal dish mounted in the middle of a table with a fire burning under it. The diner watches the monkey flop around in terror trying to free itself from a very painful and horrible fate, and just before the little monkey dies, a waiter will come in and cut the cap off the skull of the animal, and the diner eats the brains right out of the skull of the monkey as he is still taking it's last breath.

The idea is that the brains are said to be more delicious from the adrenaline rushing through the monkey's brain before it meets it's horrible death.

I compare this kind of behavior to HATE RADIO. Hate radio is intended to upset the listener, to a point that it raises the adrenaline of the listener. It is intended to rile up the listener with rhetorical political hate speak, and extreme RIGHT WING/WHITE NATIONALIST viewpoints, Fake News, Racism, Xenophobia, Insane Conspiracy Theories, Lies, Unproven speculations, and exaggerations beyond reality.

And often times it can create such hatred towards other's, as you can see the way it affects drivers in already stressful situations, like the driving in traffic, or during a pandemic mitigation process, or in bad economic times, etc.

Listeners to hate radio, while listening to that SHIT in their automobile, come home from work ready to kick the dog, clean their guns, down a six-pack, and stir up shit with anyone who don't agree with them while armed with all the fresh Bullshit they just heard on the radio.

It's like preaching to an already hateful riled up choir of haters listening to exactly what they want to hear. The haters feed off of that SHIT like hogs slopping a trough!

Hate Radio- is irresponsible radio! It feeds the trolls of our society, and creates chaos and violence in our society. Hate radio is systematic brainwashing no different than that of Tokyo Rose!

Rush Limbaugh is the Godfather of Hate Radio.

I hope it dies with him!

Rush is o.k, I listen to him once in awhile....nothing against him,....but my favorite by a long shot is Dr Michael SAVAGE. Here is the good doctor trying to reason with JPP's very own Florida....:laugh:

 
I don't revel in his impending death, but I do recognize the damage the propagandeer did to America. Over 40 years of foul and nasty things said every day. He lowered the public discourse to levels we did not think possible. He was crude and insulting. He lowered the level of discourse in America practically by himself. The result can be seen by rightyts on this board. They think being foul and insulting is a fine debate technique. Many, that is all they do.

Of course. They are nowhere near the level of rightys. And the left does not have a group that that is all they do. It is nowhere near the rightys level. There are lots of lefties who above the childish crap and attempt to achieve honest debate.
When a leftys steps out, other leftys often post against what he does. The rightys never do. Righty radio and Tv have cultured the nasty insulting name-calling talk. That is how they communicate. The left does not do that so we are locked in the past when manners mattered.

Quite a lurid and passionate post here, GS, but well written. I agree that hate radio of any flavor has no place in a civilized society. But it won't go away because Limbaugh does. There is far too much money to be made in the field, and a ready market for it in the RW. Those who listen to this trash think that they're smarter and more aware than everyone else, when the exact opposite is true. Why Limbaugh in particular is such an idol I have no idea, other than as you pointed out -- he tells ppl what they want to hear, what appeals to their basest nature, and dresses it up to be "patriotism." Limbaugh himself is a flaming hypocrite. Remember when he was going to move to Costa Rica if Obama won? Remember how he talked trash about Trump till he got elected, and now he polishes his boots with his tongue?
