I have liked what I have seen from some of the Tea Party groups. They have tried to start a grassroots movement to protest overtaxation and are trying to bring the voice of the people back to our gov't.

I like some of it until I saw the list for featured speakers at the Tea Party Event in Collinsville AL.

If you want to say you are trying to help all american citizens, you need to make sure (former judge) Roy Moore is not a featured speaker.

If you want to get people to believe you hold the US Constitution in high regard, you need to distance yourself from Roy Moore.

Scum like that is not doing us any good.

Well I certainly don't agree with Judge Moore's politics or his activism on the bench but I'd hardly consider him scum.

When you are a judge and you say "I cannot guarantee a fair trial to anyone who is not Judeo-christian", you qualify as scum in my book.

When you demand that the state recognize only christianity, to the exclusion of all other faiths, and are in a high public office, you are scum in my book.

Perhaps "scum" was too strong a word in this post, but I feel very strongly about what Moore tried to do. (and is still trying to do - he is running for Gov of AL)

Well I certainly understand the passion of your feelings. He's certainly unqualified to sit on the bench if he has such beliefs.

I'm going to say I've not followed links or what have you. In general a good rule to follow is if it connects with you, follow.

Are there bad tea party folks? Undoubtedly. Are there bad DNC folks, RNC folks? Undoubtedly. Are there bad green folks? Undoubtedly, especially those that want to kill of meat eaters.

Bottom line, this argument thread hasn't weight.

I am sure there are good and bad people in almost every group.

However, this was not about just a member of the group. This is about who was selected as a featured speaker at the event.

Who wants to kill meat eaters?

May I ask for a citation to substantiate that quote? I can't seem to find any record of Roy Moore saying that. May I ask what makes him a tyrant? Of course he's vocal, but that is his right. I don't understand what makes him a liability to Liberty Loving people. Maybe you have some sort of insight or fact that I'm not aware of, but I don't understand the animus towards this man.

Sorry. Double Post.

I'm not sure anyone vegetarian terrorists.

There are a few population control fanatics, but fears about eco-terrorists were greatly over-exaggerated, and they rightly took a distant distant back second to the much more popular conservative and Muslim terrorist groups.

Wow..... Admission from a left-winger that the Tea Party has "credibility" to destroy! I guess all of this rhetoric has just been a bunch of lies and distortions all this time? Amazing revelation on how they REALLY view the Tea Party, isn't it? The TRUTH always comes out, even when they don't intend for it to!

:D

maybe you should have referred to him as pond scum, but that would be a put down on pond scum which at least has some use

The tea party's exaggerated importance
