Tazers fail a lot, they are simply a bad choice against a long range tool like a gun. For the record, I think the Tamir Rice shooting was a bad shoot. That cop was either poorly trained, an idiot, or both.

BB guns are real guns, they are not toys, making them look like a toy would be a bad idea. Airsoft guns are required to have the orange tips, and they ARE toys. Why does just about every sentence with you begin with "why do we allow?"

The kids in all the neighborhoods I and my friends grew up in ran around with bb guns. Somehow, no one ever shot any of us. There's another variable at work here.

I would have, had one come around, because that's what kids playing cops and robbers do...shoot at each other. And I'd bet dollars to your donuts the cop back then would just join in on the fun, if anything. But, for some reason, cops back then had the wherewithal not to insert themselves in situations where no one was being hurt.

Today, they have become champions of the victimless crime, and see fit to fuck with everyone, everywhere. That's what has changed, and is the reason for bullshit like this. I've seen the video. The kid was hurting no one. He was playing by himself. The cops inserted themselves into the situation and escalated it. They are murderers.

For the record, are you a cop?

Just curious; but when you were engaging in this behavior during your childhood, how prevalent were the news reports of cops being shot?

No clue. I was a kid. In any case, that's a non-sequitur. Posit for a moment that being a cop today is more dangerous than then. Does it justify murder? Does it justify the infringement of freedoms of others? Does them going home at night trump all else? If they are dumb enough to accept a dangerous and unethical profession, why should that then become everyone else's problem?

That variable is whether or not you and your friends aimed at police or acted like thugs.

More than once while loading my car to go the gun range an officer from the local police department has seen me loading. Not once has he stopped and asked what I was doing. However, if I aimed at him while he was riding by, I suspect he'd consider that as a problem.

Were young kids shooting people with real guns back then? How's that for a variable? Yeah, my friends and I ran around with BB guns too, but kids our own age weren't shooting places up and robbing and murdering. Today they are, some as young as six and seven years old.
