Take me to your leader

Jeeez, you win a couple of elections and all of a sudden your parties ideas are the only ones around that matter..

well see how long that last.

Name one recent Republican party idea that hasn't failed? Just one?

Pre-emption has failed.

Republican fiscal policy has failed.

Republican national defense ideas have failed and failed horribly.

Republican ideas on deregulation has failed.

Even the good ideas you've had no things like NCLB have failed cause you've undercut you're own fucking ideas.

Failed, failed, failed. That sums up Republican ideology. Ya'll need to get some new leaders with new ideas.

Wow. And what ideas would you attribute to the explosion of growth the U.S. has had over the past 30 years? And I don't mean a facile answer like the Democrats or the Republicans I mean the actual ideas not the party.

and there will be another explosion before 2012, prob is retoolicans let dems erase everything before the last 6 months.
Obama will easily get back on 3% growth track, we always do.

Sure Desh. The whole technology boom was created out of the '93 budget.

As others on the LEFT have said, the Dems ought to have you on their payroll.

Shes convinced. I have had this argument with her before. No way you will change her mind. Most do relize that we had a golden era (ie tech boom). In a flat market tax increases are detrimental to growth.. in a boom market tax increases are far more easily absorbed and growth continues.

Welcome to the "new" Republican Party.

You motherfuckers are in serious trouble.

So tell me .. what do you think it is?

Happenstance?

Mystery?

Tea leaves?

Bad luck?

Why is it the republcans do so miserably with the economy?

Surely you're not going to reach for Reagan to answer that, but was it just luck with Clinton?

Ok, and you think there will be no legislation signed during Obama's years where R's and D's agree?

Edit: Well right now the D's don't need the R's as they are in control. If the R's were to retake control during Obama's presidency is how I should have asked the question.

This is teh type of things we get when the left tries to pacify the right.

I dont want any more GLB act 1999 to be written or signed into law.

Clinton compromised and signed the law.

Now its apparent how bad that was for the country.

The current R party has proven how bankrupt their ideas are over the last few years. No more compromising with the right.

The dems have done a brilliant Job of Painting 8 yrs with the last three months and the republicans are too stupid to see it.

And isn't it great to watch them dancing at their own funerals, like at CPAC? I was watching some of that footage a little while ago, and I couldn't stop laughing. You know, and i don't just write that "oh i couldn't stop laughing" to annoy people, though I do take pleasure in the fact that it does annoy some here. I mean it. I have been laughing and laughing and laughing.

They act as if democrats like Gore didnt champion the attempts to bring the internet to life.

This is what they do, the oposition does something like Gore did ,which was to nurse it allong with laws that helped it emerge and when he tries to claim credit for his part in it they misquote him to make it seem a bad thing.

They are the propaganda party and fewer and fewer people listen tho them anymore.

Ill go back to my economic/finance degree and mba for theory.

It was helpful to the deficit to raise taxes in the 90's during the boom.. Businesses didn't care... We had a tech explosion where consumers were everywhere so a little tax on a companies 80% profit margins didnt bother effect anything.. and it helped us get a surplus (tho we wouldn't have had a surplus if it wasn't for the the boom). Does that mean that its going to work every time? What boom is happening right now where a full industry is having 80% margins? What does a tax increase do to a business thats pinching pennies and there is a dried up pipeline for years to come?

Now i do think if we can foster alt energy and bio tech we can create another masive bull market.. and then is the time for the govt to take a little more off the top.

Chap, there's no room for thinkers like you in the republican party.
Come on over to where the rest of the educated broad minded people are.

Im no republican. been an independent my whole life. People on this board tend to think im more conservative.. but everyone else in my family and life think im leaning more liberal.. I guess being in the true middle its all in the perception of those judging you.

They are not investing with the money anyway top.

What we have here is a situation where EVERYONE is sitting on the side lines waiting to see what happens.

The people who created this mess with their unsound business practices are the ones who profited from it.

Time to make them kick in the money for government investment in our economy.

If they pull back from investing it makes no differance from what they are doing now.

The little guy with a big idea is who is going to be the next captain of industry.
Fuck these guys who are now the CEOs who drove us into this and took a 50 million bonus last year. This is a good way to fire them and have them replaced by someone who knows what its like to work for the money by building something.

But Evince, government backed assets is what made people not pay attention to the business practices. Do you see how more government backing will compound this risk?
