Suspected leaked caught

Want to bet that unlike Biden, Hillary, or Trump, they throw this kid in prison for a decade or more for mishandling classified information...
If this kid put them on the internet, even an obscure site, don’t you think he deserves a little prison time?

I seriously doubt this. How does a lowly airman (private) in a Massachusetts national guard unit obtain access to the CJCS (chairman of the joint chiefs of staff) briefing book???

If this weekend warrior had access to this stuff, you can bank on the fact that Russia and China had it before he did.

What does his unit do? What is his job? If he were some communications tech in a comm unit that served say the state's governor, general in charge of the National Guard, etc., then he would be in the loop to getting those documents when they were sent in and forwarding them to those who need them.
Same goes if he were in say an intelligence section of some unit that needed that information. He'd view it regularly or know where it existed.

Leader of online group where leak documents were posted is a 21-year-old Air National Guardsman

I hope they throw the book on him too! An example must be made of him too?!!

CNN —
A 21-year-old Massachusetts Air National Guardsman has been identified by The New York Times as the leader of an online gaming chat group where a trove of classified documents was posted. The Times reported Thursday that investigators want to talk to the service member and believe he has information relevant to the FBI’s ongoing investigation into the leak.

CNN has not independently verified the identity of the chat leader or the FBI’s interest in talking with him.

The FBI has narrowed the number of people who they believe could be responsible for the leaks and have been conducting interviews in recent days, two people briefed on the matter said. While there’s a large number of people who had access to the documents, investigators have been able to home in on a small number for closer scrutiny thanks to the forensic trail left by the person who posted the documents. Investigators are working on building a case for prosecution, people familiar with the matter say.

The FBI believes they are close to identifying the person behind the leak. Another source familiar with the criminal investigation said that they expect it will move along much more quickly than the Pentagon’s damage assessment.

Earlier Thursday, President Joe Biden appeared to suggest that the US government was close to identifying the leaker.

“There’s a full-blown investigation going on, as you know,” Biden said when asked for comment about the leaks. “The intelligence community and the Justice Department. And they’re getting close. I don’t have an answer for you.”

Biden was speaking in Dublin, where he is meeting the Irish president. It was the first time he commented on the leak.

CNN has previously reported that the Army Criminal Investigation Division is also “assisting the DoD in their investigation” of the leak, Jeffrey Castro, a spokesman for the division, told CNN.

On Wednesday, the Washington Post reported that the person behind the leak worked on a military base and posted sensitive national security secrets in an online group of acquaintances.

Interesting how you hoopleheads love leakers when they suit your cause.

US leak: What punishment will Jack Teixeira face?

Jack Teixeira faces a lengthy prison sentence after being charged with unauthorised transmission of national defence information and unauthorized removal of classified documents or material.

Mr Teixeira was told in court he faced up to 15 years in jail if convicted of both violations.

He was detained on Friday ahead of a court hearing scheduled for 19 April.

The Pentagon said his actions posed a "very serious" national security risk.

The 21-year-old military cyber-specialist is suspected of leaking sensitive US documents labelled top secret, secret and confidential that could cause damage to US national security.

The Pentagon said it believed the leak was a deliberate criminal act.

Mr Teixeira, who made his first appearance in court on Friday in Boston, is a member of the intelligence wing of the Massachusetts Air National Guard. The charge sheet says he was given top-secret security clearance in 2021 and since February this year had the title of "Cyber Defence Operations Journeyman".

I thought for an espionage charge, the sentence would longer than 15 years?!! That being said, I would like to see this dumbass serve all of those 15 years too?!! I hope it's not a Trump judge on this case too?!!
