Yep it's sickening and I don't know what's wrong with them Rana! I know we've got a hotbed of hate here in the US. And heads are going to explode. Who are the villains? We have so much gay bashing going on from the right wing christians, now we've got an American citizen born right here in the good ole US of A who slaughtered 50 (or more) gays, but he has Afghani parents.

This was a terrorist attack no matter what the motive but THE only slaughters the right wing care about are the ones they can pin on ISLAMIC terrorism. Yet at the same time they are tweeting gay hate. Get ready for the merry go round.

For me it's simple - assault weapons. I don't really give a flying f what the shooter's motives were. And I'm a little different than many liberals as I don't express "sensitivity" towards muslim fundamentalist "culture". So the right can come at me with that, won't work. I give as much of a shit about Muslim "culture" as I do about right wing Christian "culture".

Last summer about this time a deranged idiot kills 9 innocent black people in a church and we spent rest of the summer indulging in racialist naval gazing, re-litigating the Civil War and basically banned the Confederate flag.

So at this point, we have confirmed misogyny, homophobia, toxic masculinity, and an assault rifle.

Only reason to suspect radical Islamic beliefs is his name. That's it.

I'm not discounting the possibility, but I am saying we have no reason to believe it yet. There is no evidence. We may get some, and I won't be shocked, but anyone talking shit about Muslims now has zero evidence to do so.
