Supreme Court rules against affirmative action.

I hope this doesn’t eventually bite the soon to be white minority in the ass.

IIrony

Both the SCOTUS ruling and the article below point out wealth-based affirmative action over race-based AA.

https://www.financialsamurai.com/how-about-affirmative-action-based-on-income-instead-of-race/
Affirmative action based on income and wealth, instead of race, may be a better solution. We must help the poorest people, no matter their race, get ahead through education.

If it so happens that the poorest people have an over-representation of Blacks and Hispanics, then we should help them along with every other person who is in a difficult financial situation.

Sorry volsrock, you still won't get in to that community college you've applied to seventeen times. There are still academic standards to weed out morons like you.

So, now schools will find other ways to diversify their student bodies, not difficult, in fact many already have

Does the ruling also cover the “good ole boy network” and legacy admissions?

Irony, or perhaps truth, about these recent SCOTUS decisions is that everyone one of the Justices were asked directly about their views on abortion, AA, and precedent law, and from what we are seeing now, all of the conservative Justices flat out lied

People seem to have a misunderstanding of how AA is generally used in college admissions today. At its core it’s really about getting more middle class black kids (with lower grades and test scores) into elite schools.

This idea that if someone is rejected from Yale they can’t get into any other college isn’t correct (or really logical). Asians are over represented at many elite schools hence the negative points assigned to their application in an attempt (ironically) to increase diversity but those kids still go to other schools if rejected from the Ivies.

Thanks, great post. Eliminating legacy admissions would go a long way towards fixing this problem. As it stands, I agree that looking at an applicants opportunities ()or lack thereof) can still be considered, and standard test scores are becoming less important in the process. The reality is that looking at an applicants background, wealth and socio-economic status and considering that is going to capture many black applicants, since they are overrepresented in that 'lacking opportunities' category. Seems like it's easier to include race because it simply addresses reality. I suspect this decision is going to be litigated to death because it has, IMHO, confused an issue that is pretty straightforward.

If it’s not difficult then why do people care about the ruling? (You’re not wrong they will try to work around it but that doesn’t guarantee success.)

I believe there are there are other states who have banned AA. California did with Prop 209 in 1996 and voted to do so again in 2020. People still complain that black admissions dropped. (Regarding diversity, it depends how you define it. Asians are over represented in top California schools but in education diversity really means black people and then Hispanics.)

Supreme Court rules against affirmative action. Chief Justice Roberts writes the majority decision for the six conservative justices: "Harvard’s and UNC’s admissions programs violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.

BOOM

The end of institutional racism will be a big blow to the democrat Reich.

Now Harvard and Yale can still BE racist - but they will have to give up all that free government money. The institutions that engage in systematic racism will be ineligible for federal grants or other federal funding.

Would he not have qualified for Yale without affirmative action?

Affirmative action had no bearing on his admission to Yale.

Thomas credits AA for his under-grad years.

Always remember that ANYTHING posted by the racist left will be less than accurate and complete.

Another myth

“Rating: This claim is FALSE. Affirmative Action does not hurt Asian Americans’ chances of attending college. In fact, according to a study released by the U.S. Department of Education, Asians have the highest college enrollment rate among all ethnic groups, at 59%. And in fact, if affirmative action was outlawed, it would hurt Asian Americans’ chance of getting into college.”

ROFL

Reduced to sleazy leftist fact changing sites...

Sad.

Of course, Kagan, sotomayor and Jackson, who always vote against the Constitution, voted for racial discrimination against Asians and whites.

I'm amazed Roberts joined the Constitutionalists on this. But he couldn't hold the issue hostage, so I guess he saw no reason to join his fellow leftists.

They care because if will make it more difficult for them to reach the diversity they want, plus, the image is wrong, already seeing “race neutral” is the new “separate but equal”

Well, we now can clearly identify the far left racists …they oppose the decision that race can no longer be used for college admission.

Since allowing admission to universities by race is inherently racist, those who oppose this decision are now and forever…racists.

Really? You mean the 50 million illegal aliens Quid Pro has imported are changing the demographics of the nation? It's almost like this is a calculated invasion....

Now we got fifty million illegal immigrants in the country, fifty million, last number I saw was eleven million, wow, forty million came in in just six months, who would of guessed

As we have seen in the past, this one just makes up his own facts, kinda like prime time Fox, tell us again how you got proof Kagan released the abortion decision

No, Anchovies, race neutral is race neutral, not separate but equal.

Nice try though.

Right, "11 million," the number used by the Marxists since 1965. As if not one illegal has come in after that time.

You morons are such clowns.

Uncensored is a Down Under Dumbass. Don't expect his facts about America to be close to the truth from half a world away.

The federal government estimated 11.4 million unauthorized immigrants were in the country in 2018.

https://www.fairus.org/issue/illega...-illegal-aliens-are-united-states-2023-update
As of June 2023, FAIR estimates that approximately 16.8 million illegal aliens reside in the United States. This is significantly higher than our January 2022 illegal alien population estimate of 15.5 million.[1] This estimate is also a 2.3 million increase from our end-of-2020 estimate, meaning the illegal alien population increased 16 percent nationwide during just the first two years of Joe Biden’s presidency.

Nice try though.

From the Trail of Tears, Slavery, the Klan, Jim Crow, to BLM; democrats have been behind all racism in America. Ending institutional racism is a massive blow to the democrat power base.
