Well, here's some food for thought. Mitt Romney paid an effective tax rate of somewhere in the neighborhood of 13%. This isn't uncommon. But under the tax system advocated by SF, he would pay more... a lot more.
I'd actually pay a bit more, too, but I'd be OK with that.
That is the truly comical part. The wealthy would end up paying a lot more as they would lose all deductions, loopholes and subsidies... including the discount tax rate on cap gains. But Desh is so desperate to cling to her masters status quo that she fails to realize my plan provides exactly what she really wants.
