sub's hull was made with carbon fiber from Boeing that was past its airplane shelf li

No, they didn't wait for someone to get them. They were killed instantly when the hull collapsed.

*sigh* I wasn't talking about this particular group that died when this poorly designed and unrated for safety submarine catastrophically imploded breaking apart the submarine and killing everyone onboard instantly...

I was talking about the overall "program". Had they surfaced, nobody inside the sub could open it, there were no emergency procedures that would allow them to open the danged thing. I would not get into it because that is stupid. Even astronauts had a way to open the fricken capsule on landing...

I would not have gotten on that sub, for the reasons I listed, foremost of them being that those inside the sub had no way to open the sub had it surfaced, they had ballast that was supposed to automatically release and bring them up even if all aboard were unconcious, but they had no way to get out if they did surface and were not unconscious, they were sealed in and would have to wait for someone else to find them and get them out.

This showed a lack of foresight on the part of the "designers" of the sub, they had no focus on safety of the passengers, the sub was made up of secondhand parts and the CEO had no qualms in touting that as a "feature". He lied about collaboration between the company and Boeing as well as NASA. Anyone with a brain would have realized that as soon as they saw the xbox game controller used to control the submarine. Even a small amount of research would have red flagged that. This just goes to show that being rich doesn't mean the same thing as being smart...

Apollo 1 was so damaging because the astronauts could not open the door. It's bolted shut from outside. By the time they got the door opened, the fire had consumed pretty much everything. It was because of that fire that all future Apollo capsules were made so the astronauts could open the door themselves.

I hear ya. There were just too many obvious stupid shortcuts being taken. I also know what carbon fiber can do and what it isn't good at. Of course, the another reason is that I have no interest in seeing the remains of the Titanic. She was a beautiful ship in it's day, but it's just a hulk now. Probably the most famous ship of all time.

@Into The Night:

This message is hidden because Into the Night is on your ignore list.

Sybil can be very entertaining since he truly believes his socks are real people. Have you skimmed over the manifesto linked in his signature? If you want to peer into the mind of a psycho, look it over.

He's intelligent but, like Ted Bundy and Ted Kaczynski, as nutty as squirrel shit. What I'm not certain whether he's nutty enough to end up in the news but it wouldn't surprise me if he does something extremely violent.
