Say what you will about Newt Gingrich and his numerous wives and affairs, and it’s already become an obsession with the media that will do anything to derail the GOP and re-install Obama in the White House. Back in 1992 all it took was a “60 Minutes” interview with the Clintons and that was the end of the Gennifer Flowers story.


In 2008 it was already well known John Edwards was cheating on his wife, but the media gave him a free pass. Why? Because he’s a Democrat, of course. Democrats can do no wrong, but if you’re a Republican with any infidelities in your past then you’re fair game. This isn’t to excuse Gingrich. Let’s just see what the left always clamors for: Fairness.


It’s the double standard we live with.
Note how the lamestream media is pummeling Newt, as opposed to the way they treated the now-indicted John Edwards in 2008. Edwards had a knocked-up New Age gal pal who had picked him up in a singles bar in Manhattan. He was using campaign cash to keep her and the unborn love child on the lam, shuttling them from one posh resort hotel suite to another, while Edwards’ loyal aide lied that he was the father of the future Frances. And don’t forget the XXX amateur videotapes.

Surely a much more serious breach of marital fidelity than Newt’s serial adultery? Plus, a federal crime if you believe the U.S. attorney in Raleigh. The Edwards scandal was on the front page of the National Enquirer every week. But the moonbat media was unanimous in its verdict. … Nothing to see here, move along.
Did I mention that John Edwards is a Democrat?

If ABC’s “investigative” reporter Brian Ross had any balls, he’d go track down Vera Baker. Remember her?

Are you living on the same planet as Dixie? That which is not earth? The Gen Flowers story was huge, and lasting, and went on basically forever. Excellent try, though.
 
What an idiotic statement, the media fuled the entire "Clinton is a male slut" story for years. They were correct also!
You never saw President Clinton blaming the media for his flaw.

I love how every time a Republican fucks up, they blame the media for reporting the story.

what? the media had a field day with both clinton and edwards. edwards is shunned now, clinton was just teflon. the guy was just an incredible politician who could steal from you and tell you straight to your face that he is sincerely thankful for the gift.

You must not have crawled out from under your rock during those times. The stories were huge. Most of them broke in the tabloids and people tended not to believe them because of that. Once the truth was confirmed, the stories and their offshoots were in the news for weeks on end.

Really? I didn't hear anything about Clinton's sex life in the 90's? Are you sure about this? It was in the news??
