So doctors should work for basically nothing and drug companies should invest hundreds of millions of dollars in new drugs out of the goodness of their heart?
A lot, they do it in other countries. Is money the only motivation, it use to be humanitarian, now, everything is for a buck! It is what is sick about our society!

I do work for free, out of love, so nah nah poo poo! And before I worked for oeanuts and sometimes for free to those who were struggling, so I walk the walk! as a result I am a very happy woman with lots of people who love me, just ask brazen, she reads me fb page! I am a mother to all!

I am totally calling bullshit on that. Granted I don't need a billion, but if I had say $10 million, I could easily retire and live off the interest and I would be far far happier. I could go outside and play every day, all day!

Drugs are far more expensive in the USA compared to Canada and Europe, I suspect part of the problem is doctors in the US not looking for generic alternatives to big name drugs.

Second, I do not doubt your good nature, you have shown that many times on the board (with the exception your 'love' of a few unnamed posters).
Third, I must then follow up with.... what do you live off of monetarily? Inheritance? Savings from when you did work? the Gubment?
Well, we just have to disagree! The gross profits made off sick and dying people is obscene! Why are the same drugs from other countries cheaper?

drugs are more expensive here because we tend to subsidize the cost of the drugs to many other nations. Our patents also may be different here, providing longer protection from generics. I use plenty of generics.
That said, no question there are inefficiencies in cost within our system and doctors may indeed do what you mention.
