Trump didn't fire Bannon and had no intentions.
Kelley fired Steve Bannon.
Trump found out through his son Eric, when Eric called him and asked why he had fired the only thing keeping his base with him.

Trump had no idea Bannon was fired.

The reason I liked Bannon so much is that I believe he is the only advisor Trump has which understands the nature of the threat posed by China.

Russia is a monster of the past. They no longer have the economy to challenge the US. There is a chance that in the next half of this century the global hegemon will be China and not the US and people like Bannon can prevent that.
