Stephen Hawking Issues DIRE Warning To The World On Trump Presidency

You are right, he has no idea how most people live their lives having been confined to a wheelchair and unable to speak, except through artificial means.
He also lives in a rarified environment, by his own admission, in Cambridge.

I think what Rana is trying to communicate is that this sort of anti intellectualism is beneath you. Pretty soon having the ability to rub two sticks together will make one an elite and an object of disdain of those who are pure simply via the means of being devoid of an intellect.
I am sorry but you ought to know better than that.

Years from now he will join this list of others that thought they knew the future....

Stanford professor Dr. Paul Ehrlich declared in April 1970 that mass starvation was imminent. His dire predictions failed to materialize as the number of people living in poverty has significantly declined and the amount of food per person has steadily increased, despite population growth.

Life magazine stated in January 1970 that scientist had “solid experimental and theoretical evidence” to believe that “in a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution…by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching Earth by one half.”

“Childbearing [Will Be] A Punishable Crime Against Society, Unless The Parents Hold A Government License”
David Brower, the first executive director of The Sierra Club

On Earth Day in 1970 ecologist Kenneth Watt famously predicted that the world would run out of oil saying, “You’ll drive up to the pump and say, ‘Fill ‘er up, buddy,’ and he’ll say, ‘I am very sorry, there isn’t any.’”
Numerous academics like Watt predicted that American oil production peaked in 1970 and would gradually decline, likely causing a global economic meltdown.

If we are to stand a chance of doing that, the world’s leaders need to acknowledge that they have failed and are failing the many…We can do this; I am an enormous optimist for my species; but it will require the elites, from London to Harvard, from Cambridge to Hollywood, to learn the lessons of the past year. To learn above all a measure of humility.”

solution is pretty simple they have to share more of the wealth. If income inequality goes down a lot of these problems go way. OUtsourcing, illegal immigration, etc they are all means to concentrate more of the wealth into their hands. Yet the genius stephen hawing couldnt even figure that out.

Why do you assume you have figured that out & not him??

Well duh. That's true of anyone but the fact that he's a man of proven extraordinary intelligence gives him a level of credibility that I respect and listen too. It doesn't mean he's right but that he's a man who has "earned" respect via his extraordinary ablity and accomplishments.

I find the anti intellectualism in current conservative politics and their rhetoric not only disturbing but down right un-American. Since when has this ever been a A Nation that aspires to ignorance?
This is the underlying problem, thank you for articulating this sentiment that seems to be creating the state of Idiocracy in our society.

Lol...thank you, Rana. That's the very reason I posted that. I knew someone would respond that way. Of course I don't think he's a doofus. I do, however, think he's like a lot of the elites and has no clue how most people think and live their lives.

you racists are NOT most people

If you are using the secondary definition of the word as it applied to Ancient Greece and Rome, everything.

dem·a·gogue
ˈdeməˌɡäɡ/
noun
a political leader who seeks support by appealing to popular desires and prejudices rather than by using rational argument.
synonyms: rabble-rouser, agitator, political agitator, soapbox orator, firebrand, fomenter, provocateur
"he was drawn into a circle of campus demagogues"
(in ancient Greece and Rome) a leader or orator who espoused the cause of the common people.

If you want to some how imply that Trump used prejudice to get elected or will govern in a prejudiced manner then I disagree with the use of the descriptor. There is a difference between populism and prejudice.

you and trump are fucking racists

eat shit racist
