Anyway, obviously this thread has been dumbed down by a couple of people who can't defend their ideology so have chosen to go full retard.

The bottom line is - state's rights advocates, including Libertarians, simply do not attract minority votes. There's a reason for that.

And thankfully, their ideology has been rejected by enough people that in the year 2012, while sadly a black male can still be lynched, the local authorities cannot let his murderer go free without federal intervention.

You guys can continue ramming your heads against the wall in full gear - I left my helmet home. Enjoy.

Fairly meaningless. The main point is that, in the bigger picture of things, the philosophy that would make this a strictly local issue is one championed by Libertarianism.

At least, that's what I got out of the OP.

That is not correct. The self defense law would only apply if anyone other than the Democrats in charge in Sanford thought it was self defense.

Pretending this is what libertarians support is simply a fucking straw man. One the Democrats are obviously trying to push forth to avoid dealing with the reality of who is actually in charge in Sanford.

Also, on a side note, Darla, if your opening post were directions from my house to Canada (a short 30 min drive) I would have taken 12 hours to reach your given destination, which as it turns out is the middle of Iowa.

SF, you're reading too much into the OP, in my opinion. Darla can correct me if I'm wrong here, but she's not saying that "libertarians are responsible for this." She's saying that this is an example of why the Libertarian philosophy on state's rights would not work.
