How is Trump doing?

Wrong! This is exactly how savvy politicians act. A good politician plays the room. The Democrats fell for it hook, line, and sinker. You could see it on their faces when the camera zoomed in on them. They were in a position where they either had to stand an applaud Trump for one of his, I'll call them, shoutouts or sit there stonefaced in protest of Trump and look like complete assholes.

For example, he brought up fraud and made enough innuendo in doing so directed at Ilhan Omar. He pushed her buttons and she stupidly made a complete ass and fool of herself in return. He played her like a cheap fiddle and she fell for it.

Jefferies the House minority leader, looked like he'd just eaten a large bug. His expression was one of total indignation. He had to sit there and take it, or he had to get up and applaud and that would make him look like he supported Trump. It was masterful. Either way, he lost and he knew it.

It was a show about making the Democrats look like shit, and Trump succeeded in spades doing that.

The Democrats didn't do themselves any favors with stupidity like the US and Ukraine flag pins. Totally inappropriate for the occasion. Or the little "Release the files" badges. Al Greene made an utter fool of himself with that little sign and then his confrontational attitude that got him removed from the room.
Do "savvy politicians" spread lies? Spread hate? Tacitly incite violence against the opposition?

Are those the "leadership" qualities you admire and found missing in the female admin Chief you mentioned earlier?

They can. What you want here is to make Trump unique. The guy is just another politician. Sure, you hate him. I get that. The problem is you let your hatred blind you to reality.

No.

One thing to remember about Trump: he is popular more in a congressional district that is GOP than is the congress critter who is GOP. The critter will not buck Trump for anything at all.

Make this election about Trump only. Go after him 100% and then some. The critter can be beaten that way.
The problem is, after the next election--the midterms--playing the Trump card (pun fully intended) the Democrats have nothing. Going into the 2028 Presidential election cycle who can they put out as a potential winner on the national stage? Newsome? Hardly. He comes off as a greasy, insincere, used car salesman. Harris? She's already proven she's an idiot. It won't get better. One of any of a dozen mental midgets? They haven't got anyone to run.

2028 is the Republican's to lose, not the Democrat's to win.

In 2026, I suspect the proclaimed "Blue wave" will be underwhelming. Power in Congress might shift to the Democrats, but the margins will remain razor thin.

If the Democrats do take control of Congress in 2026, and that's a distinct possibility, I expect them to squander that with "Get Trump!" rather than try and actually be productive and positive for the nation. That will just cost them come 2028.

Other than Trump's almost trademark "illegal" rambling, he gave a pretty good speech. At several points he played the Democrats like a $5 fiddle. Watching Ilhan Omar's face as Trump brought up fraud, illegals, and Somalis was priceless! She looked like she was shitting in her panties.

HIs rambling aside, he played the room like a pro, and you could see he was enjoying every second of it.

If you hate Trump, that's fine by me. But give the guy credit where it's due. He knew the audience and grabbed them by the short hairs and didn't let go. As political theater, reality TV if you will, it was damn near perfect. Devoid of any depth, often pandering, and kicking his enemies in the crotch repeatedly. Every time the camera panned to the Democrats you could see the look of disgusted terror in their expressions. It was "How the fuck do we spin this...?"

He made Joke Biden, even smooth as silk Obama, look like amateurs at playing a room. I'll give him credit for that. Nothing memorable about Trump's speech but rather a political coup for
Appears you and the viewers watched a different speech

Obviously not everyone agrees with you...That's ok... But if you want things to change Democrats didn't do themselves any favors.... Not yesterday... not lately...
How?

Based on past State of the Unions tney didn’t do anything other opposing party members haven’t done during such speeches, and GOP Congressmen standing sitting every fifteen seconds over ever pause in the speech wasn’t a great look

Not going to be accurate forecaster again?

What does that have to do with the quality of his speech?

Probably little, just shows Americans weren’t interested, besides how can you say it was anything, all he did, always does, is read the teleprompter right, read the teleprompter left, right, left, right, left, right, left, with an occasional smile while the GOP sits stands sits stands sits stands over anything he reads

Somebody wrote that speech. Trump almost certainly reviewed it and made suggestions about what to include.

No, I'm predicting little movement overall. There will likely be a less than 10 seat change in one direction or the other.
Which is all it takes to flip the House and the Senate. It's been close for several years now. IMO, that says more about the frustration of American voters than it does about party power.

45% of American voters are Independents. Our best option is to either vote third party or vote for the challenger to keep those in power weak.

Sadly , both parties have been better at taking care of themselves than doing their duty. People who break their oaths are the scum of the Earth.

Unless someone or something does something really bad and messy
I seriously doubt it. The Democrats don't have strong candidates to run and if they run Progressive Leftists they won't gain much traction at the polls outside areas they already have that sort in. In Arizona, they regularly have run Leftist candidates against Republicans only to be beaten repeatedly, for example.

Even running one against David Schweikert, who got censured for 11 violations of Congressional campaign finance rules, saw her get stomped in the election.

People in his district were willing to elect, essentially, a criminal over a Leftist.

If the Democrats run to the Left, which they almost certainly will, it won't get them very far.
