Stand Your Ground Dog Poop

No one has a right to bully or intimidate others. While the examples you mentioned were extreme, you also mentioned cases that are pending in court.

According to you a gang can take over a street and intimidate anyone they like, including in people’s own homes because you have a “duty to retreat” or “it’s the safest way to save lives”. Bullshit. Shoot the fuckers down.

Consider Kenosha and the little scrap among dumbasses. If you and I lived on that street, do you think I should have the right to put a bullet through the fat boy’s back after he shot the first unarmed person in order to save lives? What about the Insurrection? Shouldn’t everyone just have retreated?

You roll with that, Dutchy. Lots of people don't have to play by your rules.

No worries, Matt, I will if the need arises. Killing traitors and terrorists is a duty of all Americans who are able to do so.

Fortunately, I doubt that will ever happen since the traitors and terrorists you support from the safety of your facility will be taken down by patriotic law enforcement officers.

"Stand Your Ground allows someone to initiate an argument, and then say that the argument makes them feel unsafe."

Well, no, Walter, it does not.

Actually he is right. Two words: George Zimmerman. Two more: Michael Drejka.

wow, this is getting more "Florida" by the second !

Oh yeah, the guy that opened the cooler, sank my buddy's john boat right off the dock by screwing around.

So now my buddy has a 12' john boat in 14' of water.

I've done a lot of fishin' and beer drinkin' in that boat and I didn't wanna let it go.

So I told the fellers "Be ready to grab this boat when it comes up out the water".

And I dived my ass down and hucked that boat up to the fellers and they grabbed it.

Unfortunately, my feet sunk down like a foot in silt bullshit while I was doing that, so I go to come to the surface, and it wasn't so easy.

My feet were stuck in a foot deep of silt.

I'm pretty good with breath holding, but that day took it to the limit.

I managed to extract my feetuses from that silt and get to the surface just in the nick of time.

They still hadn't let ol' fat boy that sunk the boat come in to rest, and I had to tell them to let him.

Nobody died that weekend, and yeah, we had some memories.

glad tou lived to tell the tale.

Trayvon attacked Zimmerman. I think Zimmerman was in the wrong but let's not rewrite history. Martin stalked Zimmerman and then attacked him, it was not a case of Zimmerman stalking someone who was running away.

Indeed.

Um no. You got it backwards. Zimmerman was told to leave Martin alone, but instead followed him.

Sorry, TOW, but that’s now how it happened. Zimmerman was on the phone with the police when Martin ran. Zimmerman gave chase but stopped when the Dispatcher asked him to do so. Zimmerman had assumed Martin was headed for a side exit and was walking back to his car when confronted by Martin who had eluded him.

Dispatcher: How old would you say he looks?

Zimmerman: He's got button on his shirt, late teens.

Dispatcher: Late teens, ok.

Zimmerman: Something's wrong with him. Yup, he's coming to check me out, he's got something in his hands, I don't know what his deal is.

Dispatcher: Just let me know if he does anything, okay?

Zimmerman: How long until you get an officer over here?

Dispatcher: Yeah, we've got someone on the way, just let me know if this guy does anything else.

Zimmerman: Okay. These assholes they always get away. When you come to the clubhouse, you come straight in, and make a left. Actually, you would go past the clubhouse.

Dispatcher: So, it's on the left-hand side from the clubhouse?

Zimmerman: No, you go in, straight through the entrance, and then you make a left-- you go straight in, don't turn, and make a left. Shit, he's running.

Dispatcher: He's running? Which way is he running?

Zimmerman: Down towards the other entrance to the neighborhood.

Dispatcher: Which entrance is that that he's heading towards?

Zimmerman: The back entrance... Fucking punks. These assholes, they always get away...

Dispatcher: Are you following him?

Zimmerman: Yeah.

Dispatcher: Okay, we don't need you to do that.

Zimmerman: Okay.

Dispatcher: Alright, sir, what is your name?

Zimmerman: George. He ran.

Dispatcher: All right, George. What's your last name?

Zimmerman: Zimmerman.

Dispatcher: And George what's the phone number you're calling from?

Zimmerman: [redacted]

Dispatcher: All right, George. We do have them on the way. Do you want to meet with the officer when they get out there?

Zimmerman: Yeah.

Dispatcher: All right, where you going to meet with them at?

Zimmerman: If they come in through the gate, tell them to go straight past the clubhouse. And uh, straight past the clubhouse, and make a left. And then they go past the mailboxes, that's my truck... [unintelligible]

Dispatcher: What address are you parked in front of?

Zimmerman: I don't know. It's a cut through, so I don't know the address.

Dispatcher: Okay, do you live in the area?

Zimmerman: Yeah, I... [unintelligible]

Dispatcher: What's your apartment number?

Zimmerman: It's a home. It's 1950-- Oh, crap. I don't want to give it all out, I don't know where this kid is.

Dispatcher: Okay, do you want to just meet with them right near the mailboxes then?

Zimmerman: Yeah, that's fine.

Dispatcher: All right, George. I'll let them know to meet you around there okay?

Zimmerman: Actually could you have them call me and I'll tell them where I'm at?

Dispatcher: Okay, yeah, that's no problem.

Zimmerman: Should I give you my number or you got it?

Dispatcher: Yeah, I got it. [redacted]?

Zimmerman: Yeah, you got it.

Dispatcher: Okay, no problem, I'll let them know to call you when you're in the area.

Zimmerman: Thanks.

Dispatcher: You're welcome.

Um no. You got it backwards. Zimmerman was told to leave Martin alone, but instead followed him.

He did leave him alone, he didn't try an arrest or anything. See, this is where you people always fuck up. If you wanted to make a case that SYG was a bad thing you should have brought up the old retired police fart who shot a guy in a Tampa movie theater. That was a true miscarriage of justice but you didn't do that...you're hellbent on turning Trayvon into a saint. He wasn't. Zimmerman did not attack Trayvon, Trayvon attacked Zimmerman in a place where Zimmerman had every right to be...never forget that.

Trayvon attacked Zimmerman. I think Zimmerman was in the wrong but let's not rewrite history. Martin stalked Zimmerman and then attacked him, it was not a case of Zimmerman stalking someone who was running away.

You are rewriting history. Zimmerman admitted in the 911 call he was chasing Martin. Zimmerman even drove his car up on the sidewalk chasing Martin. There are facts we do not know, and facts we do know. Martin was trying to get home at 7:00pm to watch the rest of the all star basketball game. Zimmerman saw him, and chased him. Martin tried to get away. Zimmerman even said, "These assholes they always get away." In fact, he said it twice. He did not say, "I am being chased, and am just trying to get away."

Now you could argue under Florida's Stand Your Ground Law, that Zimmerman had the right to chase Martin. I know Martin was totally unarmed, and followed the Duty To Retreat, but had hypothetically, if he had a gun, was being chased by someone in a car, did he have the right to kill Zimmerman? Does Stand Your Ground apply to Black teenagers, or only white men?

He did leave him alone, he didn't try an arrest or anything.

Zimmerman chased Martin for half a mile. Zimmerman went up on the sidewalk, and even onto the grass. Zimmerman was a clear threat to Martin, and in fact finally killed him.

If you wanted to make a case that SYG was a bad thing you should have brought up the old retired police fart who shot a guy in a Tampa movie theater.

Curtis Reeves had popcorn thrown at him, which would upset me too. But his reaction under Stand Your Ground was to murder Chad Oulson. I say murder, but under Stand Your Ground, it is considered preemptive possible defense against a threat that Reeves created, so was completely legal.
That was a true miscarriage of justice but you didn't do that...you're hellbent on turning Trayvon into a saint. He wasn't. Zimmerman did not attack Trayvon, Trayvon attacked Zimmerman in a place where Zimmerman had every right to be...never forget that.[/QUOTE]
