It's how sports are perceived all over the world.

Go take a look at the thread with Trump cultists claiming 'victory' for Trump because the Patriots won.

I was never a fan of Kapernick, until he took a stand. Now I have have his jersey.

Sports and politics are never far apart.

When I've had sports talks with friends, or viewed people arguing over sports it was about the team or players performance. I've never had discussion where we talked about a player's politics.

Of NFL owners Kraft gave the most money to Obama in 2012. Now he's supposedly a Trump guy? Am I suppose to switch whether I like a team based on who the owner donates to in a particular year?

I don't think it has anything to do with pokitical correctness. I think there is irony that the team in liberal MA is seen as the bad guys and the team from the red Deep South the good guys

With all due respect my friend, if you've never had a conversation with someone regarding a player or teams politics .. that seems a rather limited experience. I've been having those conversations since I was 15 years old .. and obviously, those conversations are being had right here on this board.

'Performance' is a statistical measure for record books.

Why do you think most athletes keep their politics close to their vest?

lots of times sports are used for proxie tribalism. I have a hard time figuring out the good guys from the bad guys.I'm just utterly sick of Brady and the Pats win all the time. Remember HAWKEYE from DCJ? I'm sure he's happy.
