Split California into Six States?

It seems to be more of a ploy to apportion California's electoral votes rather than to goose the Senate.

The house districts in CA, like many states, have already been pretty well rigged for 'safe seats' for the two parties. You think it would change the Rep/Dem ratio that much?

I was reading some liberals saying this last night. They think it is a Republican plan to reapportion California's 55 Presidential electoral votes.

I doubt it would change much at all. Like I said, the main impact it seems it would have is to give some of California's electoral college votes to Republicans in the interior and southern states.

1) I thought CA had 53
2) Not shocking that Dung has already picked up that talking point.
3) That said... I don't put anything past either party with regards to rigging districts. It is disgusting.

4) I am a moron and didn't read that very carefully... you two are talking electoral votes, not house seats.

My fault... misread that... yes... it would essentially make CA into a NE or Maine.

I have friends that live in the extreme northern area of California and no way are they liberals.
They would love to be shed of So Cal, so they could reverse the stupid gun laws.

In reality it is mostly Central Cal that is leftist. The Southern part is more Conservative. San Fran and Sacramento are bastions of Liberal ignorance. Orange County and San Diego are the Conservative side of CA.

Orange County and parts of San Diego used to be a hotbed for conservatism but the reality today is every statewide elected office is held by Democrats and they have a super majority in the state Congress.

They still are; since the 1970s Democrats have always dominated California's House and Senate. But last time I looked, there were still 25 Republicans in the House and 12 in the Senate. I would not call that Every Statewide Elected office.

Are you serious? Despite our setbacks we are still top 15 in largest economy in the world. GTFOH

He's from Detroit, MI. He's just miserable. Michigan should not exist. Michigan is a god awful place. Billy is just bitter at the world that being from Michigan was the hand he was dealt. So he has to hate on other places.

Hypothetically if this were to pass it would still have to get approval from the U.S. Congress right? Or does Congress have no say in a matter like this?
Congress is the only ones who have say in the matter actually. Traditionally they've always let territories petition for statehood first and vote on it, but constitutionally speaking, it's their call alone.

Those in Congress won their districts. Stateside elections are for the Governor, Lt. Gv., AG, Sec. of State, Controller, Treasurer and Insurance Commissioner. Democrats won all those. And in state Congress the Democrats have a super majority, they don't need a Republican vote to pass legislation.

I'm struggling to find a point here?
