The picture below is a screenshot I took from a video of the collision on YouTube....
I slowed the playback speed down as low as YouTube will allow, which is .25, then freeze framed it at the exact moment of impact.
Or as close to it as the the camera would capture given the shutter speed.
If you look closely you'll see two things.
1) the speeding car at the instant of the video frame, is already halfway buried into the passenger compartment of the car being hit.
2) the speed of the crash happened so fast, the car being hit has not even begun to move sideways from the force of the impact, which a split second later, pushed it sideways across the intersection and into a pole.
What this shows, is that the people inside the struck vehicle were already dead at that instant.
The speeding car had already smashed it's way into their car's interior and killed them before the force of the impact even caused their car to be pushed so much as an inch off the course upon which it had been traveling.
They never even knew what hit them or even that they'd been hit.
Simultaneously fascinating and terrifying.
