Special Krugman Friday

Dung must be waiting on his masters to explain this one to him...

Maybe he didn't read your posts. Honestly I didn't. Just your last one. I use the "last post'" function and then read backwards. If it doesn't look interesting I don't read back any further but may comment on the last post or something just to bust balls. Or if I want to chat.

Or maybe he took the day off too and is having a nice family day.

Nah... he is waiting on his masters to tell him how to respond. Once he looked at the actual math, he realized I was right about the 'author' being a fucking idiot. But you do go on and read that book. I am sure it will be enlightening to you.

I doubt DH is looking up anything, that guy is pretty brilliant SF, sorry to have to say so I know it's going to send you into a rage...

lol... nah... he just is really really good with google.

Which is why he has disappeared so conveniently when I asked him (or others) to do the simple math.

I know you won't respond to it, but I was hoping he might try. He was so lolololololol before. He who laughs last...

You're just begging for me to skewer you, aren't you?

You know SF there's a song about us, and here is the opening part that describes you:

Yeah, he's big and dumb as a man can come
But he's stronger than a country hoss
And when the bad folks all get together at night
You know they all call big Jim "Boss",
just because

LOL... your poor delusions still giving you problems?

They are
You hacks on both sides won't raise your heads up to look.
By the millions

I was being sarcastic Toppy. The RW hacks say Obama should be creating jobs and forget that the tax cuts started more than 10 years ago. I don't remember this much discussion on forums about the job situation until Obama was elected.

As I have stated many times in the past decade... tax cuts only stimulate the economy in the short term. The effect stagnates if you do not have corresponding spending cuts. The over spending by the government, increased regulations on industries that are useless (see Dodd Frank), bad policy (see Obama care), endless campaigns to 'tax the wealthy' and 'get them evilz corporations' and you end up where we are today.

When you blame everything about the job situation on Dems or Obama, I have a hard time taking seriously anything else you guys say. You know it's true. No matter how far back in time we talk about, RWs always, always tie the bad stuff to Dems and the good stuff to Repubs. You guys don't even give Clinton any credit for the '90s economy, instead you hopscotch back to reagan.

It reveals that you are a keenly self-aware, open-minded, intellectually curious (voratiously so) and thoughtful person who is comfortable with his own views and is interested in deepening his understanding of the world by challenging those views from time to time and actively engaging on an intellectual level with smart people (and their works) who hold opposing views.

Post win!

Nope... younger than me, french, favors redistribution of wealth. Why would he pop up on my radar? He has done nothing but write a book that he knows liberal morons will flock to buy.

Wrong again! Piketty has compiled two extensive websites and a university study program devoted to issues of income inequality world wide.

Just wondering if you say stuff like this to your female co-workers. :palm:

Eh. It doesn't bother me. Maybe because Tom has worked himself into a literal, foaming rage against rape victims and even now is in hysterics about "Feminists" who believe rape is the responsibility of the rapist.

SF's joking sexism, while I can see how someone wouldn't find it funny, really pales in comparison. Into invisibility IMO.

For all the geniuses on the left... Take the gains the first three have... tax the biggest portfolios gains at 50%, the second at 25% and the third at 10%. Now, tell us what happened to the wealth gap for the four individuals.

It was less than it would have been if they had not been taxed at all!

How is this relevant to the discussion of wealth inequality in Piketty's book? Or Krugman'e review? Hint: It isn't at all relevant. But you would have to read them both or at least the review to know that. All you've done here is show that you haven't read either of them. Piketty isn't talking about earned wealth or wealth gained form investment except at a very high level. He is interested in the negative effects of vast inherited wealth, that is the inherited wealth of the top 1 percent and the top 1/10 of 1 percent and so on. In other words, the absolute richest people on the globe. Sorry but your little exercise here is irrelevant.

Krugman is one of Obama's top advisors!
After bush wrecked the economy
Unemployment has been cut in half
And the economy is producing more than ever!
Shouldn't we be at 20 percent unemployment with these socialist policies?
