Special counsel Robert Mueller has hired 13 lawyers for his probe of Russian meddling in the 2016 investigation and plans on hiring “several more,” a spokesman for Mueller told Talking Points Memo on Friday.

“In addition to Mr. Mueller, we have 13 attorneys on board, with several more in the pipeline,” Mueller’s spokesman, Peter Carr, told TPM in an email. “The number of people will be determined by the needs of the investigation.”

CNN first reported on the expansion of Mueller’s staff Friday.

On Wednesday, the Washington Post reported that Mueller’s investigation included possible obstruction of justice by President Donald Trump. Trump himself wrote on Twitter Friday morning that he was “being investigated for firing the FBI Director.”

Past reports on Mueller’s lawyers have referred to them as an “all-star” team, and a “Murderer’s Row,” references to their experience with high-profile cases.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich criticized the team over the weekend — at least, the handful of lawyers whose names are known — for disproportionately donating money to Democratic groups and candidates in the past.

Mueller is himself a registered Republican — though he is widely described as “apolitical” — who was nominated to lead the FBI in 2001 by then-President George W. Bush.

*sigh* The repubs had Whitewater. Guess it took 20 yrs. for karma. History repeats itself. The goal is to get Trump to depose under oath, catch him in a lie and impeach. Even if it comes to a deposition they'll be arguing if his testimony was in fact lie.
Other than that, no crime .

If they are smart I am sure they could catch him... Obviously another fiasco like in the senate wont happen as it seems they are putting together a team that knows what they are doing & call bull shit out, not letting it pass, they got all day & are making millions, & not in a hurry....

He could of course take the 5th :dunno: but that may be worse??

Job security. This is going to drag on for a long time because there's nothing and the goal is to fabricate something.
Hell I've lied in a deposition to support a totally competent dr. that was being sued by an ambulance chaser.
He could of course take the 5th :dunno: but that may be worse??
Politically that would be. I don't see him doing that. First they have to get him to a deposition which will take over a yr. I bet, maybe two. Then even if he tells what he believes is the truth they'll spin it into a lie and try to impeach. The die's been cast. This is where we're heading.
This is how our natl. gubmint "functions" now. Your side loses, investigate, fabricate, impeach/prosecute. It's pathetic.
Why Trump wanted to be president with all he has is beyond me. Politics is dirty, nasty and evil. I wouldn't want that job.
I think more than anything else his boorish personality got him into this. I still think it'll go nowhere.

If he was legit etc why did you have to lie?? (PM me when you get a chance)

I can see him taking the 5th, after attempting exec privilege is rejected, but who knows this far out..:dunno:

I think you are saying it is a conspiracy?? Are there some GOP players in on it??

You now believe he is going to be impeached?

The ambulance chaser asked me a question that was unrelated to the cause of the plaintiff's claim. Had I answered truthfully it would have slightly helped the plaintiff. The question was, "Can you think of anything else that would have caused the infection my client sustained?" I could but said no. Even if I had answered truthfully the doc was well within standard of care. The infection could have been caused by a needle tract contamination from the patient's own bacteria. Fuck you can't help the pt. without giving an injection. So I answered 'no'. Don't tell Comey. Or Mueller.

I see that....... Essentially asking you to speculate~turning around & saying "you believe this could be a=the probable cause"=negligence....??

No. this is now M.O. in nat'l politics. The side that loses the election tries to get revenge with investigations hoping to lead to prosecution/impeachment even when nothing's there.

It all depends on if there's ever a dem majority in the House. That's it. As long as the repubs control the Senate no chance he's booted. Unless there's actually something of any substance found which is highly unlikely . This russian collusion hacking thing's been investigated for a yr. now - nothing. Zero.
