Question .. serious question .. why would I need to talk to right-wingers? What would there be to share, learn, or even communicate?

That's a serious question for our side. We spend far too much time arguing with, and talking about THEM .. way too little time talking about US. What we need do .. what we should be thinking about.

Should we be led by the Democratic Party, or should we be leading it?

I have no problem talking/debating racist people. My hope is getting them to treat white people the way that they want to be treated. They need to learn that without white people, they would have to get jobs and pay for their own fatherless children.

Voting against racist can never be a failure. Even if conservative lose the fight against racism, it's still a fight worth fighting, and that's always going to be a win.
