“Speaker Johnson: Separation of church, state a misnomer”

All through the West we find the governments ruined with mind viruses, corruption, and sadism......, marching the West towards suicide....which is basically now.....now is when the West dies.

So they all wailed in fear after 9-11 that "sharia law" for America was the main objective of every muslim in the world. Yet little theorcatic cretins like Johnson have no problem with his version of religion dominating and directing our democratic republic. I wonder if all our resident MAGA/neocon/teabagger/fibbertarian/alt-right posters here REALLY understand what it would be like to live in a theocracy?

They seem to be hell bent on finding out.

Silly, little girl ! E Pluribus Unum is not the official motto of the United States (and has not been for a long, long time).

So, as Benny Hill would say....

"Put your finger in your ear and go: 'Ting-a-Ling-a-Loo' ! "

What do you mean 'for a long time'?

What is the U.S motto?

Hint...it ain't 'make America great again'.

As far as Johnson’s religious aspirations for this country, I don’t see him trying to introduce legislation in congress that would force us all to bend the knee to the Christian god. I personally would leave as soon as I could if that happened. I HAVE lived in and visited theocracies, the only one I would go back to is the Vatican.

Howdy Doody, Anth' !

The current, official motto of the United States is "IN GOD WE TRUST." It was made official in 1956.

It's unbelievable that I should have to teach you - A YANKEE DOODLE - what your own country's official motto is.

But then again, you are a Leftie Democrat, so I guess you are not the sharpest tool in the kit.

And maybe the fact you are a dunce is not even your fault. I mean, who knows, you may have been dropped on your head when you were a baby? Or maybe someone poked a twig up your ass-hole when you were potty training and the psychological trauma caused permanent mental retardation ?

“Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) pushed back Tuesday on the belief that there should be separation between church and state on the U.S., arguing that the founding fathers wanted faith to be a “big part” of government. Separation of church and state … is a misnomer. People misunderstand it,” Johnson said”

“Johnson argued that “faith, our deep religious heritage and tradition is a big part of what it means to be an American” in his comments Tuesday. He further argued that “morality” must be kept among Americans “so that we have accountability.”

“He is not the only member of Congress who has who has suggested that faith should influence the government. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) faced backlash last year after she said she believes “the church is supposed to direct the government.”

“I’m tired of this separation of church and state junk — that’s not in the Constitution,” Boebert said at the Cornerstone Christian Center in Basalt, Colo. “It was in a stinking letter and it means nothing like they say it does.”

Not surprising Johnson taught at Liberty college

Interesting since the Founders were largely Deists

Nope.

The Deist lie is old and long debunked.

Democrats do not hate our country! In fact we love it and are trying to protect it from IDIOTS like you and DONALD TRUMP who are trying to FUCK IT UP!

Democrats definitely hate the country and the proof is how they are taking a wrecking ball to it for the last three years. You, being a dishonest, lying leftist ignoramus are too stupid to comprehend the OBVIOUS.

Except that he is correct; there is no "separation of church and state" in the Constitution, only a prohibition of the state choosing a religion.

Try actually reading the Constitution, before attempting to comment on it.

And as the old saying goes, "Be careful what you wish for."

I'll bet you dollars to donuts that right now some MAGA mush head just shitted his pants when his girl friend (legit or on the sly) announced that she's pregnant ... and they live in a state that now makes abortion illegal (thanks to the right wingnuts on the SCOTUS). Also, that if they keep their current local political gov't bent, it'll be illegal to travel to another state where they can get that abortion.

Ahh, irony!

This is true

BUT

On February 12, 1873, congress passed an act stipulating that the phrase must appear on all U.S. coins, which has continued to this day.

The more you know.

Wow. the Founders came back in '56 for that?

Is that on the Great Seal?

He's right. But on February 12, 1873, congress passed an act stipulating that the phrase must appear on all U.S. coins, which has continued to this day.

Just clarifying a point or two .... my high school history teacher would've been proud! :)
