Detectives are investigating the slaying of a husband and wife who were found shot to death inside their San Jose home beside an eerie, ink-scribbled message.

The bodies of Shamima Rabbi, 57, and Golam Rabbi, 59, were discovered at about 1:47 p.m. Sunday in their home in the 3000 block of Lucas Court, according to San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia.

Police were called to the home to investigate suspicious circumstances and found the couple dead. Both had been shot at least once.

The message, “Sorry, my first kill was clumsy" was written next to the couple’s bodies.

Police have yet to identify a suspect or motive in the killings.

Sadly, you may be right. Maybe RacistX will suggest it was drug or gang related, since it's likely he doesn't consider the victims "white".
 
Seems like an odd crime for Cali. It's a pretty liberal state.

I'd expect it somewhere below the Mason-Dixon line, not the west coast.
 
San Jose police continue to remain tight-lipped about the case, which marked the city's 15th and 16th homicides of the year and capped a weeklong period that saw five killings. But investigators said Tuesday they believe the "incident was not a random act of violence and the suspect was someone familiar to the family."

It does not appear that any gunfire was reported to police before when the Rabbis were found.

Police also sought to alleviate fears of a greater public danger or that the couple might have been targeted because of their religion; the Rabbis worshipped at the nearby Evergreen Islamic Center and were active in the South Bay Islamic Association.

"Based on the information we have at this time, we do not believe this incident is a hate crime or that the public is in any immediate danger as a result of the suspect's actions," police said.

Two sons of a San Jose couple whose killer left a chilling message scrawled on the floor have been booked on murder charges, according to local media.


Police arrested Hasib Rabbi, 23, in Tracy, Calif., according to NBC Bay Area and KGO-TV, and booked him into Santa Clara County jail. His 17-year-old brother was being held at Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall, media outlets reported.


Golam Rabbi, 59, an engineer, his wife, Shamima, 57, an accountant, were found shot to death Sunday afternoon in their home in a largely Bangladeshi community in San Jose. Local media said the killer left a note scrawled on the floor with a black marker: "Sorry, my first kill was clumsy."
