Soros-Funded Group Pressures Christian Stations to ‘Give Up Glenn Beck for Lent’

It has also collaborated in the past with Res Publica and Avaaz.org, a kind of global MoveOn.org.

...So to say this was a mutual decision is likely far more accurate.

For Beck it's almost a lateral move -- this is no Keith Olbermann we are talking about, Beck has an entire media empire waiting for him and will likely become his own case study in what a new media world might look like once stars become less dependent on traditional cable platforms.

For Fox it means they no longer have to answer for someone who doesn't like to answer to them.

What remains uncertain is when that move will take place. By all accounts the details of Beck's "transition" have yet to be hammered out and no one is quite certain when Beck will depart. Will he still be on in a week? Good question. One thing is for certain, Fox will not see ratings like that for a long time to come.

Beck is a scoundrel, who scares senior citizens on his "news" show and promotes products for them to buy so that they may be "safe" in the "end" times.

He is the kind who if hell exists, it is made specifically for his type!

The Bible talks of false prophets who will lead the people astray, to me, Glenn Beck fits this part perfectly!

Beck announced his own fate when he took on Soro's. Soro's went after Beck via back door money funneling to groups mentioned in the OP that has created pressure to his cable advertisers on FOX and other broadcasts. The fact that FOX is going to remain connected to Beck is due to his being a lucrative commodity. Soro's, it can be argued, won this battle---but who wins the ultimate victory has yet to be determined.

I'm not a fan, I think he's bombastic and his history sucks. But he does seem to drive many to distraction. LOL!

I have pretty much always felt as you do about him-not my kind of listening pleasure. I do however believe he was good at connecting the dots in a away that is worthy of debate, which he never got. Instead he was treated to derisive comments about his emotionalism etc. I find his religious rhetoric distasteful and a negative impetus to his over-all message...we shall see what becomes of the Beckmiester
 
He may be down, but he's nearly equal with his 3 cable competitors, combined. Tough time for news program like his. There's no doubt that the show was targeted and sponsors threatened. I doubt that would make a difference, since it's a good lead in to the news. Whatever the reason, ratings don't look to be the issue.

You're entitled to your opinion and whatever sources you care to read and quote. Doesn't matter to me, I thought the Business Insider gave a reasonable analysis. BTW, addressing the 2009 bit about Obama being racist too. ;) How that suddenly manifests itself in 2011? Goes back to ID's post on Soros.

Becks ratings have been struggling all month. And by struggling we mean he as been consistently below the 2 million total viewers mark. A first.

Last April a big deal was made when Beck's ratings tumbled from 2.9 in January to 2.1 in April. They rebounded over the summer (as evidenced by his well-attended rally) but dropped again in October when he slipped behind Bret Baier for the first time.

Still, 1.9 is a drop from his October average of 2.9 million

Misinterpret all you like, doesn't bother me a bit. Where did I deny the ratings fall? Not once. I said look at the numbers, and look at the article. That you wish to find your spin? Go ahead, no one's stopping you.

I know you are not here often Annie, but it's always nice when you are! Epic is a manifestation of a troll-One Damo can't or won"t ban...

The fact of the matter is that Beck is gone because he knows the drill----advertisers pulling the plug is where the proverbial rubber meets the road...he's gone from his FOX show-but he isn't gone.
