Other way around. She knows if she survives her party's primary she'll win. Mark Kelly knows he's fucked and is desperate to keep his job. Hell, the most corrupt Arizona congress critter is David Schweikert in the House. He's going to cream his Democrat opponent, likely Hiral Tipirneni who has tried several times now to defeat him. The guy's thoroughly corrupt but he'll get reelected because he's not a Progressive Democrat like Tipirneni and his district is chock-a-block with people who HATE Progressive Democrats.

No, she was voted in by Independents. The Democrat portion of her votes was pretty much a given. Without support from Independents and cross voting Republicans she's screwed. That goes for any political candidate these days for the most part. Sure, there are districts where a Democrat or Republican holds sufficient numbers in their own party to get elected, but not at the state and federal level. For a statewide election or a nationwide one you need support from outside your own party.
The reason you need that is because neither party holds a majority of the vote within its ranks. Both are minority parties.
