He's dead. There seems to be a consensus to not give the names of terrorists to avoid nutjob copycat attacks. Even so, there's no law and the "consensus" seems inconsistant.
Regardless, his name will be known within a week, most of the details of his life, etc.
My guess is he just another untreated American case of mental illness who happens to be Muslim. How many here would flip-flop their positions if was another Dylan Roof mass murder at a black church?
