(CNN)As abortion bans go into effect In states across the US, how strongly the laws are enforced will depend on local prosecutors -- and some are promising not to bring abortion providers to court. More than a third of the district attorneys representing the 25 most populous counties in states that have banned or are set to ban abortion have publicly vowed not to prosecute abortion cases, according to a CNN review, potentially limiting the impact of the new restrictions.

Their declarations could set up legal clashes between more liberal prosecutors in urban centers and red-state attorneys general and legislators, some of whom are already planning to wrest control of abortion cases from local authorities.

Still experts and abortion providers said that it was unlikely that promises from district attorneys alone would prompt abortion clinics to reopen in states that have laws banning the procedure, as uncertainty remains over the impact of the Supreme Court's decision striking down the Roe v. Wade precedent.

It appears that we are no longer a nation of laws.

We are a lawless nation.

This decision was from the highest court in America.

1. No doctors are going to risk losing their licenses. Those are controlled at the state level.

2. State AGs will shut down any medical facilities that perform abortions, in violation of state law, and people will be prosecuted, or threatened with prosecution, at the state level.

This is not street crime, and will be dealt with harshly. Woke peoples best not buy into the propaganda. Locals will have little or no say in the matter.

It works both ways. For example, in Florida, AG Ashley Moody has told Manatee County they cannot make a law or rule to ban abortions, more restrictive than the state. No FL county that I know of has asked Ms Moody on an opinion to lessen restrictions, but I am pretty sure the answer would be the same.

And if a FL governor can get rid of an elected Sheriff of dereliction of duty, he can probably do the same for a county prosecutor. Few governors have the courage, but I think the FL governor does. He has done so in the past. That removal was confirmed by the state senate, also.
