Solar energy is the future

I wouldn't get too excited though as many of them do not stand up very well to a cost benefit analysis.

That's not true. Here in Canada is seems to have already gone mainstream. With $20,000 dollars you can buy a panel for a regular sized home.

The thing is we have a program that you can sell energy back to the grid if you produce more then you use. Therefore it would be a good investment(at least for now) to invest in large solar panels, that is until every one owns solar panels.

And prices will only come down.

Dumb2cents I bet your dumbass choses oil over solar. Chevron invested in and lost a bunch of money on hybrid batteries. Chevy can't sell 10,000 volts. Who killed the electric car? Not enough dorks like you to by them. How much did you lose on solyndra dumb 2cents?

OH OH. Its crack head again.lol I chose SOLAR!! Chevron suppressed the technology. Watch the movie who killed the electric car. After they movie they started mass marketing them. Do you know why no one bought them? They are OVERPRICED. The rich have to compensate for all the lost gas revenue. That is how they operate!

Though I seen some hydrogen run vehicles and it seems to be an even better idea. Clean energy and you dont have to invest too much money in the already existing infrastructure to make the transfer.

Your a fucking clown and a loser. If that were true the volt would be outselling the Prius. They can't sell the tiny production run, it's not economic clown.

There are houses in my road that have solar panels but they are subsidised by a government scheme that buys back excess energy.

The only people that can afford it are all the people that have stocks invested in oil!!LOL I remember when the honda's came around. They were cheaper on gas and thus sold for more to compensate the lose of gas revenue. People couldn't afford them. Then more and more people bought them, prices came down and cars were more gas efficient, and now? The price of gas goes up!! The oil men ALWAYS get their cash!!!!

ng. It is And prices will only come down.

The program is called Net Metering. It is available in most of the fifty states, has been for some time now.

Well oil has made me and millions of others rich. I have invested in solar and new age batteries. They are decades away. People not involved toss out replace oil like its flipping a light switch. Your grand kids will still be using oil. Hopefully competitive solar cause we don't and won't have it for ten years plus.

Solar is fine as a supplemental source of energy, but it cannot produce enough energy to satisfy our energy needs. We'd probably have to cover the state of Arizona with solar panels to produce even half of our current output level.

Not true. The sun's energy strikes the earth with an average of 1000 watts per square meter. Most homes can generate all the electricity they consume without covering their entire roof.

Even more effective are the Solar-thermal electric gernerating plants, where output is measured in mega-watts.

Many home owners in louisiana were swindled with $30,000 panels that didnt replace 30 percent of the electric bill. Buyer beware.

Sounds good to me. Though it doesn't sound subsidized. They buy the panels and whatever they produce over their requirements they sell back for profit.

In many cases the panels are supplied for free and the company gets the money for the electricity sold, that's where it is subsidised.
