Social Studies teacher tells female graduates to stay home and make babies

who said, and I quote:

"...your greatest role of your life will be that of wife and mother. That the greatest impact you will ever contribute to our world is a loving and devoted investment into the lives of your precious children. To solve the problems plaguing our society, we don’t need more women as CEOs, we need more women as invested mothers."

Nice in other words, if any of you women get any crazy ideas about trying to help solve the world's problems, you should realize the best way to do that is to just stay home and let the men handle it.

He's right. Your mom worked and look what a pathetic mess you turned out to be

That's it...ignore the thread topic to instead make another petty personal attack...ROTFLMAO!

After all, it's the best you can do, isn't it?

I have addressed the topic shitstain. Maybe you can't read.

Staying at is the best thing a woman can ever do. Nothing can compare to sending well adjusted children out into the world. Your parents of course wouldn't know that feeling given what a douche nozzle you turned into.

Being a CEO can't compare. It is shallow, petty minds that think so.

That's a good little pompous know-it-all...dictate to everyone what they should and shouldn't think.

How DARE they decide for themselves what the best course of action is for them and their family...they just need to listen to good ol ILAsswipe.

Much ado about nothing, it must be a slow news week. The US is such a secular society that you have In God We Trust on your money and no president could ever get elected unless they are seen to be religious.

Yep; all we're missing is a slogan like "God save the Queen"!! :)

On June 2nd, Peter Heck, a social studies teacher at Eastern High School in Greentown, Indiana, gave a controversial commencement speech at the school’s graduation ceremony. Among other things, he made several comments about female students’ future responsibilities regarding work and family:

Peter Heck

Ladies, I challenge you to a life of rebellion. To recognize that your body is a temple that is deserving of honor, not indiscretion. I challenge you to be women of virtue, finding beauty not in how many unprincipled men you can attract, but rather finding beauty in modesty and self-respect. I challenge you to devote yourself to family, to your children.

If you choose to have a career, God’s blessings upon you, but I challenge you to recognize what the world scoffs at… that your greatest role of your life will be that of wife and mother. That the greatest impact you will ever contribute to our world is a loving and devoted investment into the lives of your precious children. To solve the problems plaguing our society, we don’t need more women as CEOs, we need more women as invested mothers.

and what is the role for women after their children (if any) leave home and no longer need them as they did as children, take on the role of grandmother and help rise their grandchildren (if any)?

while there is satisfaction in raising children (successfully) too many become single parents and some have no desire to have children. what of them, are they to be relegated to be second class citizens?

also, how many families can afford to have a stay at home parent these days?

until recently, pregnancy was a chancy proposition too often resulting in death for the mother and/or child. even today, in the good old u s of a, maternal and infant mortality is higher than should be acceptable.

in the western world, discrimination against women is almost as bad (if not worse) as discrimination against people of color.

When people speak of infant mortality rates it would be nice if they knew what they are talking about. Not every country measures it the same way. Just sayin

true that.....to hear some liberals talk of it you would almost believe they aren't aware that the infant mortality rate in the US is close to the lowest in the world.......

True dat. I guess they don't know that many other countries use a different standard making thier numbers look better. I guess they don't know that we get a lot of low educated immigrants that skew our numbers. As they say ignorance is bliss which means liberals should be the most blissful in the world yet they are the most miserable
