The left is apoplectic about Trump reining in the administrative state. A common refrain I hear from leftists is that Trump is interfering with the independence of the DOJ and FBI.

I am not sure where this notion of them being independent came from since they fall under the Executive Branch, but if they are truly independent as the left claims, then who do they answer to? Or are they a brand of government all unto themselves?

Amazing how uninformed the Red Hat Club is, ah, the head of the FBI, just like every other American, answers to the Law, the Law he is suppose to objectively enforce.

Yes the President appoints and can fire FBI directors, although prior to Trump, that has only been done once, and the role of the FBI is not to serve as the President’s own Gestapo
