You tend to comment a lot when people discuss Trump - as though he's irrelevant. He's not. He's one of the frontrunners for '24, and is still a very significant influence over the GOP.

Trump has some talents. He can read an audience. When he is shoveling shit to them, he gages their responses and changes directions a bit. He does it on the fly like a guy who has been doing that forever.
He is also an excellent con man. He sells absurd lies that he thinks his audience wants to hear. He stokes them up. He owns them when he is done talking. Honesty and knowledge are not part of that grift.

Add him to the LONG list of those who were fooled by Trump, and whose loyalty has been repaid with any of the following: jail time, lost careers, ruined reputations, fines and major lawsuits. It has to be hundreds of people at this point, maybe more. People who served in his admin, media personalities who went out on a limb for him, lawyers, supporters, et al.

Trump is a classic charlatan and grifter. He demands loyalty, but gives zero in return.
