So now we need a Ballroom?

The Economist is not a conservative magazine, Anchovies, and their website So what? He's not running for office. Is he?

Did our POTUS ever pressure Twitter or Facebook to limit accounts or posts that were critical of him or his policies, Anchovies?
You really want more, they are all similar, even the Razzy

You asked for “citation” and I’m just showing what America thinks of your Messiah and the “job” he is doing, he could set new records for being the lowest approval rating for any President after his first year, which is normally still part honeymoon

The rest is ping ponging and subjective, been there, done that, and I don’t recall public recognition of your claim so strong it led to a reversal of action

Which balls do presidents attend besides inaugural balls?

:palm:

The new White House ballroom is not exclusively for dancing, but is designed to serve as a venue for a variety of major functions.

Its size will accommodate events that currently require setting up a large tent on the South Lawn, such as state dinners, receptions for dignitaries, and large parties.

The White House is a venue for a wide array of events and ceremonies, reflecting its significance as the official residence and workplace of the President of the United States.

The White House also hosts state dinners, which are formal events honoring visiting foreign dignitaries. These dinners not only serve a diplomatic function but also showcase American cuisine and culture. The President often delivers remarks, and entertainment is provided, making them memorable evenings.

Another important ceremony that takes place at the White House is the Presidential Inauguration, which occurs every four years, often followed by an inaugural ball at the White House.

The White House is also involved in various commemoration events, such as honoring the Medal of Honor recipients and other distinguished Americans. Additionally, the White House frequently serves as a backdrop for cultural events, public policy announcements, and national celebrations.

To learn more about current and upcoming events or ceremonies, it may be helpful to visit the White House's official website, where information is updated regularly.

This latest trump travesty is an insane waste of money, no matter whose money.

Not your call to make.

It bothers me because trump is destroying a beautiful historic building and its grounds. He's slowly turning the PEOPLE'S house, not HIS house, into a trashy replica of Mar-a-Lago.
The White House has had dozens of modifications over the years. Look at the positive side, Trump will have finished his third term before it is completed.

Stop with your whining and get on with your silly barf emojis. It much better fits your frail personality.

Modifications to the Whitehouse are not uncommon. That’s OK.

But on this one, if Trump is involved, it will look like a gaudy French whorehouse.
He wants to make the WH "fit for a King", himself.

Obama needed a basketball court... Which cost the taxpayers more money than this ballroom
And now it's gone. Furthermore, the basketball lines were an addition to the already-existing tennis court. And drawing lines for basketball certainly did not cost as much as this ballroom. How much did the Melania-designed new tennis pavilion cost?

"No, the basketball court lines were removed in 2020 during the construction of a new tennis pavilion, so there is no longer a basketball court at the White House. Wikipedia National Archives

You really are uninformed, or just ignorant

Let’s see, just for starters, ending birthright citizenship, refusing to spend billions of dollars appropriated by Congress, imposing tariffs without congressional approval, deporting unauthorized immigrants without due process, demanding nearly $1 billion in free legal services from major law firms to avoid losing federal contracts, security clearances and access to federal buildings.
Legina's mind is deteriorating. He's gone downhill this past year.

Neither would I, but the donors (including POTUS) solved the problem.

Tents have been used by presidents of both parties, underscoring a bipartisan acknowledgment of the East Wing/East Room's limitations for diplomacy. For comparison, the ballroom's one-time cost exceeds the estimated tent expenses but provides a reusable venue seating 650–900.

It saves long-term costs and enhances dignity for events.
What event does the President of the United States need 640-900 live attendees? And since all prior Presidents have used existing facilities who’s is there now supposed bipartisan acknowledgement?

Cite where a new ballroom will be”save long term costs” (easy to play that game)

Opinion polls are irrelevant, Anchovies. They do not show what "America thinks".

They show what a small number of individuals responded to a question that you didn't bother to read.

Did Trump the alleged "tyrant" pressure Twitter or Facebook to suppress criticism of himself or his policies, Anchovies?

Already answered, Anchovies.
