So did the stimilus ruin the recovery?

Yes, we are further and futher away from the brink of economic disaster and continueing to get even further.

I love when posters use ":palm:" in the place of an argument.

To me it simply says... I have no intelegent response to you so Ill just put an icon here!

Yes, facts are indeed stubborn things. And the facts show that pre-Depression recessions were longer and occurred more frequently than post-Depression recessions.

Yes, because we had advanced technology that dispursed information quickly before the 1930's and Globalization and Free Trade we're big factors back then.:palm:

Fact is in modern times Keynesian Fiscal policies delay recovery. Stable Monetary policy is always the best recipe and we've learned alot from the Chicago School since the breckdown of the Keynesian Phillips Curve. Bernanke agreed with the Milton Friedman assessment of the Depression and has made many moves the Monetarist would fully support.

Fiscal Spending your way out of a reccession does not work.

Dude, you have no factual support for your claim that Keynesian policies makes recessions worse. None. Instead, you rely on the same type of argument that you refuse to accept from Keynesians, to wit, things would have been better more quickly if government did nothing on the fiscal side.

Look at the stock market!!

Look at the improvement on jobs!!

Look at the rising dollar!!

So what is it, were you against the Stimulus? They keep attacking Charlie Crist for being for the Stimulus, and it turns out he was right....

yes....we would have seen those things a lot sooner if we hadn't spent all that money creating more government jobs that the state and local governments can't afford to fund for a second year.....

And here it is folks - the new spin.

The old talking point: the stimulus will destroy the economy & throw us into a Depression!

The new talking point: we would have recovered much sooner if it hadn't been for the stimulus! (along with: Obama just got lucky)

That is funny, so more of the same would have caused different results?
