Like NYC they fear places they never have lived in , yet their fox news is centered smack in the middle of manhattan, don't see fox moving to bug turd Alabama. Wonder why

Back in the early 90's when I lived in Rockland County I still carried with me all the scary stories about NYC from growing up in the Midwest and watching TV. So on those times I drove down to or took the train down to Manhattan I was always just a little bit terrified. Which was sad because it limited my experience of the place. I know there's stuff you need to be mindful of ANY time you go into a huge city, but the way so much of the US views NYC can really distort stuff.

I was fortunate to having grown up in the city, we used the subway at 11 years old. It's all how you carry yourself -walk purposely like you belong there with your head up aware of your surroundings Never had a problem,

Republicans trashed many attempts to create the kind of public transit that would work here

And, what kind of public transit would work there?

Note: By public transit that works I mean:

It's convenient. You don't have to walk half a mile to get to it.
It pays for itself. No subsidies, no need for perpetual taxpayer funding
It's reasonably safe to ride on it. You won't get pushed on the tracks and run over, robbed, molested, or something else.
It doesn't create traffic problems in operation.
