"California could soon rise to the world’s 4th-largest economy"

"California has long faced criticism for driving away business and workers, due to high taxes and prices and tough regulations."

"There are mounting predictions from some economists that the Golden State could soon surpass Germany to become the world’s fourth-largest economy, which would trail only the U.S., China and Japan, countries with more than three times California’s population."

Now should be compare that with say ruby red GOP dominated Mississippi's contribution to the U.S.?

And they say they'd rather have California and others succeed from the nation, good luck with that one, if they did those in many ruby red GOP controled States would have to support themselves

Don't have to, ain't there, and if you don't watch Tucker or Fox, most would rather not

Nobody WANTS to pick up and leave a collapsing state.

Many/most cant, but those who can get out should consider doing it while they still can.

We really took off when we kicked all the republicans out of office

They have brain damaged ideas of how to be a successful state and an economic powerhouse

Consider getting out now if you can.

I left Cali not because of the economy but because of the weather. But it's fun to hear Conservatives blather on year after year after year after year about how HORRIBLE California is....meanwhile Cali is something like the EARTH's 8th largest economy. LOL.

California has become a proxy for the political and cultural wars in this country. It’s not that one has to live here to talk about the state but those who don’t live here talk about it as if it either has no faults or nothing good. There’s like zero nuance and little discussion beyond certain headlines.

Gotta disagree. 300 days a year of sun, no discernible seasons, nothing green, traffic. It was all too much for a Midwesterner like me so I had to run away after a little more than a decade there.

Bullshit

My city is known for its huge trees

I came here when I was two

I lived in Vegas for about 15 years due to job reasons

Hated it most of the time

The reason there is traffic is there are so many places to go

Mountains

Lakes

Rivers

Beaches

Concerts

Plays

Sports

It’s all here

And you trash it all the time

Like NYC they fear places they never have lived in , yet their fox news is centered smack in the middle of manhattan, don't see fox moving to bug turd Alabama. Wonder why

Wow. That got heated quickly. Sorry.

And Californians don't like to use public transit and they LOVE to drive.

Not true

Republicans trashed many attempts to create the kind of public transit that would work here

Hey

I love my state

And the weather is awesome

I have never shoveled snow

And the seasons exist they are just more subtle

They are wonderful

Think of how you felt every time you watched our parade in Pasadena amazed that it was so springlike at that time of the year

The last train on the last line of greater Los Angeles’ Pacific Electric streetcar network made its last run on 9 April 1961. You can see the final days of this once-robust public transport system for yourself in the short film Ride the Last of the Big Red Cars

It’s why the name the Dodgers worked so well here when they moved here
