Private sector employers walk down that road lol.

I tell young people all the time to be careful what they put on social media, because employers look at it. Why should the government be different?

i didn't say the government should be different. Ideological purity can only be subjective. She committed a crime, that's all that matters. Trying to add multipliers to it is the type of reasoning that gave us hate crime legislation.

It's not a crime to be an extremist but whoever gave her a security clearance should be charged with malicious ignorance lol.

Subjective. And from what I read she didn't engage in social media much at all. How do you know what little she did engage in wasn't in some part motivated by work?

I'm a big a fan of objectivity as anyone.

But political extremism can only be defined in reference to mainstream political thought, and Reality Winner[lol?] is a real winner, in that regard.

No way she should have gotten a security clearance because it's asking for trouble. She probably thought she was going to keep Trump from destroying the planet.

She did something illegal and was ineligible? You're still talking about a political test.
 
Her politics are irrelevant. Holding leftist views should not be a disqualifier for working in gubmint. If she broke the law, she should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
