The problem here is that ignorance is celebrated, and education is considered some kind of snobbish liberal practice. Most of the posters here (and lets be honest, this is a far right board now) have substituted parroting right wing media in place of research, education, and critical thinking. They see the red meat, and they deliver it here with no thought whatsoever. What it leads to is threads that are so patently absurd that they aren't worth commenting on. We also have the overt racists who just post the most racist trope they can find. A thread started with the hope of a serious discussion immediately devolves. I'm here primarily to find out what the nutters are focused on. It helps when I have a conversation with one of them in real life. I guess right now, it's mainly 'Biden caused Inflation', 'Biden is a pedophile', 'brown people are really bad', and 'HUUUUUUIUNNNNNTTTTTTEEEEEERRRRRRR'. There don't seem to be any actual issues they care about, which is why the board has zero debate value

I can't take pity on someone who attacks an entire forum about an issue that has nothing to do with this forum. Yes I feel sorry for the person but he is the one who came here and then used his vision as an excuse to break rule 13.

Please be fair. Several people here have vision issues and use large fonts just so that they can see what they're typing. Grok does this all the time. I put him on ignore partially because the large fonts bother MY eyes, but I'm not going to go after him based solely on that. He's otherwise an idiot so is worth ignoring. lol

I am being fair. The OP has posted almost a thousand posts and firmly expressed his liberal views. He has been here for a year and now he whines about being picked on because of his sight. Sorry Owl I have to throw the BS flag. It is the typical I'm a victim so I'm special thinking. Jade doesn't do that and I am sure there are many others who have conditions as bad that don't use it as an excuse.

There are a few intelligent and non-racist posters who drop in occasionally, but the either can’t stand to be confronted with a difference of opinion or are unable to fight through the idiocy of their less intelligent brethren.

I never wish pain on innocent people, but I've doubted Tigger's veracity from the get go and strongly believe him to be a sock of one of the Usual Suspects. I have no doubt he has medical issues, as most of us older Americans do, but using that as a tool for pity while lying to others is disreputable.

There is one way to make that happen. Eliminate screen names, require members to be who they are, like in the real world. You would get a fraction of the membership to stay, naturally. But this is the problem of the misnamed
"public square" applied to Twitter and other Internet forums. There is none of the individual accountability that there is in a real public square.
