Slavery was horrific

Using proper grammar on line is just another extra stroke. Only time I use up any extra strokes is when im off my feet.. ;)

"The History channel" and facts are usually two completely opposite things...

One of the most important discoveries with respect to nuclear weapons was the discovery of how plutonium could be synthesized. That was made in the US by American chemist Glenn Seaborg at UC Berkeley. It remained a secret until well after WW 2 ended.

The breakthrough on fission was made by Enrico Fermi, an Italian, not a German emigree, at the University of Chicago where he made the first successful reactor using graphite as a moderator. That led to the discovery of how mass production of plutonium could be done relatively fast and cheap. It also gave the US a far better understanding of the nuclear fission process.

Electromagnetic separation of uranium isotopes as was done at Oak Ridge, was an American invention led by Ernst Lawrence. The alternate method for separation, by centrifuge, was led by Egar Murphree, an American chemist.

Robert Oppenheimer, an American Physicist led the research side of the effort to build a nuclear weapon.

Yes, there were German refugees / immigrants that helped in some way or another in getting to a nuclear weapon, but they were usually not central to the project overall, and certainly weren't among the leadership. And, no, Albert Einstein wasn't playing a big role in this as he was a theoretical physicist, not a chemist or applied physicist.

Red Tiger 69 is a big pussy!!

Because they were DEMOCRATS. Republicans put an end to slavery.

This is ridiculous.

Today's MAGA party bears no resemblance whatsoever to what Republicans were in the 1800's.

As can be seen by today's Republicans bending over backwards to defend this Florida policy - even suggesting that there were positives for Jews in the Holocaust to justify it.

Megyn Kelly did a great interview with Dr. William B Allen. He help develop Florida's curriculum on African America history. He DESTROYS Libratards whining about Florida's curriculum. The man is highly educated and is Black and he says Dems are making a political issue out of something that is true. If you are intellectually honest you would listen to him before you whine about the Florida curriculum.

I believe Lincoln was right. I know Democrats that were all in for George Wallace. I guess you forgot about Democrat Senator KKK Byrd.

Dr. William B Allen who wrote the curriculum says the lesson is about the intelligence and resilience of slaves. He talked about Frederick Douglass who was taught to read by his owner's wife. He took that skill and made a positive out of it. Blacks also use skills learned to become blacksmiths, farmers, carpenters etc. Slavery was horrible but Blacks were resilient and took skills learn in slavery to benefit them after slavery.

Trumpian cocksuckers and White Supremacist fuckwits always forget that Byrd apologized and regretted his association with the KKK.

Republicans of all stripes were right to clobber Donald Trump for his failure to disavow support from David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan. But some Trump supporters are so desperate to somehow prove that Democrats also harbor racists that they are dredging up the name of the late senator Robert C. Byrd (D-W.Va.)

Nice try. And a pathetic one at that.

Yes, Byrd was a member of the Klan. Even worse, as he wrote in his 2005 book, he formed a chapter of the domestic terrorist organization in the 1940s. Then, Byrd went into politics. Several times during his 57 years in Congress, Byrd’s Klan connection threatened to upend his career. But here is where Byrd is no Duke. He admitted his mistake and atoned for it in public and in policy.

In his memoir, Byrd wrote, “It has emerged throughout my life to haunt and embarrass me and has taught me in a very graphic way what one major mistake can do to one’s life, career, and reputation.”
...

...Because of Byrd’s evolution on race and equality, the NAACP issued a statement praising him at the time of his death. “Senator Byrd came to consistently support the NAACP civil rights agenda, doing well on the NAACP Annual Civil Rights Report Card,” said Hilary O. Shelton, director of the NAACP Washington bureau and senior vice president for advocacy and policy. “He stood with us on many issues of crucial importance to our members from the reauthorization of the Voting Rights Act, the historic health care legislation of 2010 and his support for the Hate Crimes Prevention legislation.”

It's incredibly telling that for literally decades, when the topic of racism comes up, the only name conservatives come up w/ is "Byrd."

Lysander Spooner is a good example of someone critical of both slavery and Christianity.

Not sure why you introduced atheism.

It's irrelevant that spooner was critical of Christianity it doesn't change that Christianity was at the front of the abolition movement
