Ideally, there would be no government. But the problem arises when you have a stateless country with neighbor states.

In the absence of government society generally devolves into feuding between various tribes/warlords/factions. This is the nature of man. All of these namby pamby idealists who somehow think that, in the absence of a governing body, we'd all somehow get along because humans are basically good - I wonder, have they ever actually met a human?

What folks tend to misunderstand about the libertarian left is that they aren't opposed to organization/planning in itself. If you take a closer look, you'll find that they preach a highly organized society - albeit without state, markets and religion, it becomes complex - Just think of it as a council of elected representatives from communes forming the highest level of authority.

The man in your signature, Marx, saw this as the final form of society. So, in that respect, the only difference between him and the Bakunist crowd was when he wanted to remove the state.

Communism isn't pro big government. As I stated in an earlier post, a large number of communists actually want complete abolition of state, either immediately, or eventually.

Take all of that, and add to it, spitting at returning troops who were unable or unwilling to secure college draft deferments, and you have the classy Kaboomers right there. You guys not only felt the world owed a living, you thought (and still think in old age) that the world owes everything to you.
