LOL. NIMBYism is a MAJOR contributor to our housing crisis (extremely high rents) forcing many people onto the streets. (Of course for those who are mentally ill or have a major drug addiction they will have issues no matter how low the rent. But for others NIMBYism is the issue.)

This is just a giant non sequitur with some gratuitous ad hominem, insults, and misinformation tossed in rather than an answer to my questions.

Why is rent so high in SF? Why is the city overrun with homeless, most of whom couldn't afford an apartment at a quarter of that rate?

Babbling on about who the homeless are, and your comment about homeless veterans is wrong... virtually every survey of homeless persons relies on self-reporting rather than verification of veteran status. It also doesn't examine the background of those veterans that are homeless. If both were done, the number would be far lower and most of the veterans found would be ones discharged in less than honorable ways for criminal misconduct during their first term of service... It doesn't matter who they are, the question was about why they come to SF in huge numbers compared to almost anywhere else in the US.

Little kids making gang signs having to walk past zombies on their way home from the school bus stop. I'd say there's a couple things wrong there.

Also their chaperone cussing around them.

To recap what's wrong:

1) Little kids making gang signs for the camera as they get off the bus.

2) Zombies congregated at their bus stop

3) Their chaperone cussing
